At the end of the day, whether you're interacting with Android in the car through a tethered connection or a preinstalled OS, Google's platform helps get you where you need to be. It just goes to show how much power the company has gained in the automotive world.
I just purchased a new 2023 Honda Accord Touring. It also has Android Automotive OS buit into the car. I just added my vote to this topic. I am currently using the Tidal app but would much prefer Roon ARC in my car. I have tried Roon ARC via my android cell phone, but would much prefer to use an app native to Android Auto OS.
I can access Samsung smart things via android auto on screen, it allowed me to turn devices within smart things on and off. would be very nice to be-able to have the same functionality with HA where you can display your love lace dashboards.
The difference is that Android Automotive is an independent OS that does not connect with the smartphone. Applications must be formatted for this platform. The same as for android TV, not all applications are available if not formatted for the platform.

Android Automotive OS adds a layer of software that brings features that are unique to automotive. Android Automotive OS falls under the Android Open Source Project. Hi to all, I think should be nice some kind of widget only for a few object like garage door or a scene. But it seems an android auto lack because I never seen similar object neither on other apps like amazon alexa or similar
Support for Android Automotive. just gotten a new car polestar 2 and its running Android Automotive Version and have google play store for downloading apps thats are compatible for automotive... maybe adding support ?
