How to encrypt the database password in domain.xml when using payara micro?

I know that procedure but I don't know how to handle it with payara micro where I can't really use asadmin.

Sorry, I was not aware of the missing asadmin in micro. Documentation suggests admin commands could work when using a DAS:

Payara Micro supports asadmin commands at boot time - you can specify them in a text file and pass using for example `--postbootcommandfile` argument, see the documentation: https://docs.payara.fish/documentation/payara-micro/asadmin/pre-and-post-boot-scripts.html

Payara Micro doesn't open admin port for running asadmin commands remotely. However, it's possible to run asadmin commands from within application with Payara Micro API or send a command from Payara Server DAS which is connected to Payara Micro in the same Hazelcast server, see more in the docs: https://docs.payara.fish/documentation/payara-micro/asadmin.html
