🏥 COMMUNITY ANIMAL RESCUE STORY
Pirate's Fight for Survival
- When Pirate was spotted on the streets with a severely damaged eye, it was clear he was in immense pain. The injury, most likely caused during a street fight with other dogs, had progressed to a critical stage.
- Team P.A.W.S. immediately rescued Pirate and rushed him to the veterinarian. After examination, the medical team advised that the only way to relieve his suffering and prevent further infection was to surgically remove the damaged eye.
- Understanding the urgency of the situation, P.A.W.S. swiftly organised the necessary funds and ensured complete post-operative care for Pirate. The surgery was successfully performed, and he is now recovering under careful supervision.
- Though Pirate may have lost an eye, he has not lost his spirit. Today, he is pain-free, safe, and healing.
- Every rescue like Pirate's is made possible through timely intervention, medical support, and the compassion of those who stand with us.

🦜 WILDLIFE RESCUE OF THE MONTH
Trapped and Rescued: The King of Good Times
- This month, Team P.A.W.S. rescued a beautiful Kingfisher that had become trapped in a glue trap set out for rodents.
- Glue traps are indiscriminate and extremely cruel; once stuck, animals struggle in panic, causing severe exhaustion and injury. By the time we reached the site, the bird was helpless, its wings firmly adhered to the adhesive surface.
- Our team carefully freed the Kingfisher using specialized techniques to prevent feather damage. After being admitted for observation and supportive care, the bird is now recovering well and will soon be released back into its natural habitat.
- This rescue is a reminder that glue traps pose a serious threat not only to rodents but also to birds and other unintended wildlife. We urge citizens to choose humane and wildlife-safe alternatives.
- One small choice can save a life.

📚 AWARENESS & EDUCATION
Building Compassion at South Indian Education Centre
- This month, Team P.A.W.S. conducted an Animal Awareness Session at South Indian Education Centre, Badlapur, reaching 98 students from Standards 3rd to 7th.
- The session focused on teaching children how to treat animals with care, kindness, and responsibility. Students learned about basic animal behaviour, how to safely approach community animals, the importance of avoiding cruelty, and simple ways they can help animals in their neighbourhood.
- The interactive discussion encouraged students to ask questions, share experiences, and understand that animals feel pain, fear, and affection just like we do.
- By nurturing empathy at a young age, we are shaping a future generation that chooses compassion over cruelty, and coexistence over conflict.

💉 ANTI-RABIES VACCINATION DRIVE
Strengthening Protection in Titwala & Palegaon (Ambernath), Badlapur
~100
Community Dogs Vaccinated on February 21st
- On 21st February, Team P.A.W.S. successfully conducted an Anti-Rabies Vaccination Drive across Titwala, Badlapur, and Palegaon (Ambernath), vaccinating approximately 100 community dogs.
- Rabies remains a preventable yet serious public health concern. Through proactive street-level vaccination, our team ensured that community animals received timely protection, contributing to the safety of both animals and residents.
- Working directly within the animals' territories allowed us to reach even the most timid and hard-to-approach dogs. Each vaccination was carefully administered and documented by our dedicated on-ground team.
- Every drive brings us one step closer to building a safer, rabies-free community.
