SQUARE DANCE CLUB

 

Paws and Taws members and friends –

 

Hope to see a great crowd Friday night when Terry McGill makes the trip from the Knoxville TN area to call.  Been a couple of years (pre-pandemic) since his last visit to Seneca.  Also a chance to welcome Tom and Cindy Bunn are back from their winter in Florida – note below that they will be offering beginning Waltz lessons and a multi-rhythm Phase IV workshop starting May 23, and a Super Saturday event with Curt and Tammy Worlock on June 3.

 

Upcoming Paws and Taws dances;

  • Friday, May 12 – Western Hoedown with Terry McGill (from Tennessee) calling and Tom Bunn cueing.
  • Friday, May 26 – Memorial Day Dance with Ken Perkins calling and Tom Bunn cueing.
  • June 3 - Super Saturday Round Dance Event with Curt and Tammy Worlock.  Details on the flyer in the event details on the Upstate South Carolina Google calendar.
  • Friday, June 9 – Spring Cove Picnic and Graduation Dance with Phil Buckhiester and Ken Perkins calling.  Picnic 6:00pm, Dance 6:45 to 8:45pm at South Cove County Park.  Directions: Directions: From Seneca, take SR 28 North toward Walhalla.  Turn right at Bountyland onto SR 188 /Keowee School Road and follow it north to the first traffic light.  Turn right onto South Cove Road, then continue to the park and the pavilion.  Parking fee is $3.00.  GPS: 34.71111, -82.96670
  • Friday, June 23 – Beach Party Dance with Mike Cox calling and Tom Bunn cueing.

 

Dances are at Senior Solutions with early at 7:00pm and the dance, mainstream with announced Plus with rounds and lines between tips from 7:30 to 9:30pm.

 

Want to learn to round dance?  Tom and Cindy Bunn will be offering beginning Waltz lessons this summer on Tuesdays, starting May 23, from 5:15 to 6:45pm at Senior Solutions.  If interested, contact them at 864-723-6965 or tomandc...@gmail.com for more information.  Already know how to round dance?  They will be offering a workshop on Tuesdays from 7:00 to 9:00pm, reviewing dances in a variety of rhythms, generally at the Phase IV+ level.

Sylvan Squares Last Dance:  Friday, May 12 at St. Timothy's Church, Brevard, NC, with Tony Simmons calling.  Club will be going dark after this final dance.  If you would like to join them earlier, the club is meeting at the Twin Dragon Restaurant, 1261 Asheville Hwy, Brevard, NC 28712 at 5:00pm for food and fellowship before the dance.
