SQUARE DANCE CLUB

 

Paws and Taws members and friends –

 

Paws and Taws will only have one dance in April, but what a dance it will be!  The one and only Tony Oxendine will be calling on Friday, April 11.  The dance, Mainstream and announced Plus, will be from 7:30 to 9:30pm; squares only, no rounds or lines.

 

With the 50^th CallerLab Convention in Greenville next week, there are lots of callers from around the world in town – we had a visiting couple from England at our lessons last week, and have been contacted by a couple from Germany about the Tony O dance.  And, of course, Thunderbirds and 4-Plus with a caller and cuer from Germany for their Hat Dance on the 12^th, and Mike Hogan from Nebraska at Lakeshore on the 19^th.  Have also seen announcements of out-of-the-area Trail-In dances as callers make their way to Greenville.

 

Upcoming Paws and Taws dances:

• Friday, April 11 – Special Dance with Tony Oxendine calling.  No rounds.
• Friday, April 18 - no 3^rd Friday dance (Good Friday).
• Friday, April 25 – no dance, see you at the South Carolina Convention in Rock Hill!
• Friday, May 9 – Lost Socks Dance with Tony Simmons calling and Tom Bunn cueing.
• Friday, May 16 –Pizza Day Dance with Richard Smith calling.  No rounds this night.
• Friday, May 23 – Memorial Day Dance with Joe Arnold calling.  No rounds this night.

 

Dances are at Senior Solutions.  For dances on 2^nd and 4^th Fridays, there will be early rounds at 7:00pm and the dance, mainstream with announced Plus with rounds and lines between tips from 7:30 to 9:30pm unless otherwise noted.  Flyers are in the event details on the Upstate South Carolina Google calendar.

 

For 3^rd Friday dances, there will be a Mainstream workshop 7:00 to 7:25pm with no break, Mainstream tips from 7:30 to 8:30, and Plus tips 8:30 to 9:30.  The format of these dances will be a focus on providing floor time for both new Mainstream and Plus dancers.
