SQUARE DANCE CLUB
Paws and Taws members and friends –
This Friday is a second Friday dance with Tony Simmons calling. Early rounds with Tom Bunn cueing at 7:00pm, Mainstream with announced Plus with rounds between tips 7:30 to 9:30pm.
The second of our three Plus Workshops is this Wednesday, July 9 from 7:00 to 9:00pm at Senior Solutions with Joe Arnold calling. Free to members, $5 per person for non-members. The third session will be July 23. Going to the Tennessee Convention and would like to dance in the Plus Halls? This is your chance to get ready

Dances are at Senior Solutions. For dances on 2nd and 4th Fridays, there will be early rounds at 7:00pm and the dance, mainstream with announced Plus with rounds and lines between tips from 7:30 to 9:30pm unless otherwise noted. For 3rd Friday dances, there will be a Mainstream workshop 7:00 to 7:25pm with no break, Mainstream tips from 7:30 to 8:30, and Plus tips 8:30 to 9:30. The format of these dances will be a focus on providing floor time for both new Mainstream and Plus dancers.

Third Friday Beach Party Dance on July 18 with Joe Arnold calling. Mainstream workshop 7:00pm, Mainstream dance 7:30 to 8:30pm, Plus dance 8:30 to 9:30pm. No rounds.
Interested in learning to Waltz? Tom and Cindy Bunn will be offering Beginning Waltz lessons starting August 12 and running through October at Senior Solutions on Tuesdays from 5:15pm to 6:45pm. Details on the flyer in both the Paws and Taws and Upstate South Carolina online calendars.

Dancer help requested for Pride Callers School: (from Tony Oxendine on Facebook):
Square dancer help needed. On July 20 - 24, 2025 Jack Pladdys and I will be conducting the 2nd Annual Pride Callers School. The school will be held at Pride RV Resort in Waynesville, NC. We would love to have "real" dancers for these callers to practice on. We have sessions on Sunday, July 20 at 7PM - 9PM. On Monday- Thursday we have sessions at 9AM - 4PM and 7PM-9PM. Lunch is included each day. There is a FREE dance, called by the students on Thursday, July 24.
These callers are trying very hard to improve their craft. Please help us and square dancing by supporting and encouraging them. If you can make it at any of the above times, please contact me directly at to...@tonyoxendine.com or at 803-840-0746.

Hi All!
The fellowship hall at Central Presbyterian Church is still not available due to A/C issues, so our next dance, July 21, will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 711 S McDuffie Street, Anderson/, same place we held our graduation dance. This is our Toys for Tots Dance.
Entry is one unwrapped toy per person. Buddy Ferguson with the Marines is scheduled to pick up these toys .
Our caller for the night is Joey Duhamel from Louisiana. He was one of those in charge of putting on the national convention a few weeks ago. Please come join us for this special dance.

Christmas in July Dance (just a theme from our Aussie President, where Christmas is celebrated during their winter and not the beginning of summer, not a toy drive) this Friday, July 25. Early rounds with Tom Bunn cueing at 7:00pm, Mainstream and announced Plus with rounds between tips with Tony Simmons calling 7:30 to 9:30pm, and maybe a bonus Plus tip at 9:30pm?
Also, don’t forget the third of our Plus Workshop on Wednesday, July 23, from 7:00 to 9:00pm with Joe Arnold calling. Joe expects more of a dance format, but will regroup as needed it and when the floor is struggling.
Interested in learning to Waltz? Tom and Cindy Bunn will be offering Beginning Waltz lessons starting August 12 and running through October at Senior Solutions on Tuesdays from 5:15pm to 6:45pm. Details on the flyer in both the Paws and Taws and Upstate South Carolina online calendars.

Sad News, passing of High Mountain Squares Bob Walker: (from Facebook):
July 18: Virginia Walker asked us to share that Bob was admitted to hospice on Friday, July 11th at the Franklin NC hospital. Bob’s health has been declining the last few months. We all have fond memories of Bob and the jokes he liked the play.
