Paws and Taws members and friends –

This Friday, September 11, Joe Arnold will be calling and Tom Bunn cueing.  Early rounds 7:00 to 7:30pm, Mainstream with announced Plus (not including the new to Plus calls at this time) 7:30 to 9:30pm.

Mark your calendars for upcoming other upcoming guest callers:  Patty Greene on September 25, and Marty Northrup on October 16.

Paws and Taws will be offering Plus lessons (the full program, not just the “new to Plus” calls) on Thursdays from 7:00 to 9:00pm starting September 10 for ten weeks through November 12 with Mike Cox instructing.  Both new to Plus and those with Plus experience looking to both brush up and practice the “new to Plus” calls are welcome.

o       Friday, September 11 – 2^nd Friday Dance with Joe Arnold calling and Tom Bunn cueing (Patty Greene now September 25).

o       Friday, September 18 – 3^rd Friday Dance with Joe Arnold calling.  No rounds this night.

o       Friday, September 25 – Flappers and Dappers Dance with Patty Greene calling and Tom Bunn cueing (previously was September 11).

o       Friday, October 9 – 2^nd Friday Dance with Joe Arnold calling and Tom Bunn cueing.

• Friday, October 16 – 3^rd Friday Dance with Marty Northrup calling.  No rounds this night.
• Friday, October 23 – Tips and Treats Halloween Dance with Tony Simmons calling and Tom Bunn cueing.

 

Dances are at Senior Solutions.  For dances on 2^nd and 4^th Fridays, there will be early rounds at 7:00pm and the dance, mainstream with announced Plus with rounds and lines between tips from 7:30 to 9:30pm unless otherwise noted.  Flyers are in the event details on the Upstate South Carolina Google calendar.

 

For 3rd Friday dances we have altered the format to have the workshop between the Mainstream and Plus sessions: Mainstream tips from 7:00 to 8:00pm, Plus workshop 8:00 to 8:30pm, and Plus tips 8:30 to 9:30pm.  The format of these dances will be a focus on providing floor time for both new Mainstream and Plus dancers.

SQUARE DANCE CLUB

This Friday, September 18, Joe Arnold will be calling our Third Friday dance.  With Plus lessons starting (see below), we’ve made a slight tweak to the format:

·         7:00-8:00pm – Mainstream Dance

·         8:00-8:30pm – Plus Workshop, including the “new to Plus” calls introduced at lessons.

·         8:30-9:30pm – Plus Dance

Note that even during the “dance” portions, there may be opportunities to look at a call that the caller sees are causing issues.
