I feel you will want to know this info. It is with much sadness I write this. I never pass around emails about others with out knowing the info is 100% accurate.

Yesterday I received a phone call from a rescue that one of their people had met a transport coming up from IL and Foster 2 Home ( Cathy Maloney ) had two puppies on that port.

They said whoever was picking up the puppies, got there , loaded them and then got one puppy out of the carrier and put it in another carrier, covered it and set it off to the side, said the puppy had Parvo,  then left. THIS PERSON LEFT THE PUPPY IN THE PARKING LOT.

The van driver didn't know what he was supposed to do. The person with the other rescue  called her rescue and told them what happened. She was told to get the puppy to a vet immediately. Then the rescue called me , knowing I send dogs to Cathy. ( Cathy told me today it was none of my business) I disagree totally.

I called the person with the rescue who was there when it happened and got the full story then I called Cathy Maloney thinking one of her people had done that.

Guess what..it was Cathy herself who left that puppy. She was there. She was outraged that they sent her a sick puppy and she would have to incur cost to treat it so she said "she declined to accept it" , she "sent it back". What she said to me over and over on the phone was" I am the victim here"...Cathy was more concerned about incurring cost then the sick puppy. She kept saying to me, " I called Julee and told her I was sending it back" but the driver of the van didn't know any thing about it and didn't know what to do.

In my eyes the puppy was the victim.

Needless to say leaving a puppy in a crate in a parking lot is not acceptable.

I am letting you know because the time may come when you are transporting dogs to her. It is your decision of course what you do but I thought you would want to know about this.

Sally Matay has the puppy at the vet now and hopefully it is improving. Julie Falkenberry was the transport CO if anyone wants to confirm with those two or you can contact me if  you have questions.

I hate this has happened. It shows me the real person I was sending dogs to. I am disappointed and shocked over this.

I no longer use language that accepts the current concept of animals as property, commodities and/or things. Rather than refer to myself and others as "owners" of animals, I now refer to myself and others as "guardians" of our animal companions and to animals as "he" or "she" rather than "it". I urge you to do the same.

Patti, I do not know you and you don't know me or my rescue.  You post this without talking with me personally to see what the motivation was to slam our rescue.  Just because someone has time to slander someone on this internet does NOT make it true.  This was a long time ago and all was taken out of context.  Shame on you for gossiping with no direct knowledge.  None of the people you mention here have any direct knowledge or the vindictiveness of these women.  They should work this hard to save the dogs and not discredit a hard working team such as our.  We save special needs to the tune of over 45% per year.  Ask any rescue about the special needs they take in....normal is 20%.  We find our own donations and ask nothing from the public.  Have you ever had your own rescue?  Does this even register with you?  We are tough and thorough when giving one of our babies to an adopter.  I would think you would have better things to do with your time then join in the gossip groups.  And that is what this is.  Gossip to discredit a wonderful team of people working hard to make a difference.  Nothing said in your post is accurate and I have a witness to prove it.  So apologize for trying to hurt a true dedicated group of people.  This is not how the internet should be used.  We need to social media to post and praise.  Not run down those working day and night to run a rescue.  Many dedicated rescuers have left due to this use of the social media.  Shame on you.  You obviously have never looked at our web site to see our guidelines or our dedication to the homeless ones.  Guess what, People lie and that is something I have to accept.  You have been taken in by a big one.  I suggest you look to the person you are slandering for information before posting your opinion.  Again you don't know me or my rescue, so what right do you have to form an opinion?

I think what you really mean Cathy is that you believe Patti committed defamation in the form of libel.  You can actually sue people for it.  The main thing here is that the accusation has to be untrue.  That would mean, you didn't refuse to accept a dog, the dog wasn't left at the drop location and the transaction was completed as intended.

IF this did happen, then Patti is not guilty of anything.  IF it didn't happen, you can contact an attorney and sue her.  You'll need to provide affidavits from people who say they won't work with you any more based on her post below.  It's expensive, time consuming and usually extremely hard to prove.

Good luck.

I did indeed contact attorney's specializing in internet problems.  They did agree it was a valid claim, but the cost would be on my rescue.  After looking at all the options, the board declined to follow through with the suit.  It was false and the wonderful work done with special needs dogs has proven us to be a first class rescue.  2 women who where not there caused this entire drama.  People love to slander and hurt others using the internet.  The attorneys agree we were better off letting these women say what they wanted to, as our work speaks for itself.  Anyone can be a victim of this sort of slander.  It is a shame we are so quick to judge and believe anything put out there and can't work shoulder to shoulder to help more dogs.

Whatever you have as proof should be posted. One day soon. Someone is going to get busted over this. I have been "black listed" by such tactics and did as you did, did noting. One day someone is going to take action and finally make everyone accountable for thwir bad mouths. And a good thing too. You should post scanned copies of any proof so the rest of us and other rescues can see the villain here and CUT THEM OUT of rescue. Things like this make some people quit rescue and that onxe again, only hurts the fur babies
