CL: Since the first draft of ABC almost 15 years ago, this book has gone through soo many style variations. The first few versions were watercolor and ink, a bit like the art in THE BOOK OF MISTAKES. But the patterned clothing and rainbow of colors made some of the letter shapes difficult to see. After that, I experimented with printing the clothing in solid blocks of color, using a cut-paper printmaking technique that I used in MY HEART. From there I eventually I traded out the color for solid blocks of dark grey. All of these changes were about simplifying the body-shapes so that the letter-shapes would be easier to see from a distance.

ABCD brings colours, love and joy through its powerful visuals. The Ganpati Bapa festival shouts culture, beauty and the true India spirit. People dancing to the rhythm, realistically enjoying themselves and celebrating, is beautifully denoted. The dance battle becomes aggressive, yet passion is transparent where each move is enunciated and filled with true emotion.

Overall, ABCD is a great family film to watch. A few downsides due to its vast similarities with Step Up, however in some cases this can be over looked. The dance battles are profoundly exciting, where the music scores are mind blowing. The cast brings the film to life and work together as a team to create powerful dance routines. ABCD truly brings drama intertwined with emotional scenes, leaving the audience filled with enigmas. Most importantly, it teaches us that Any Body Can Dance.

Monika: T I was really disappointed in Monika's groups choreography, the preview and previous episodes really made me excited for it, but the ''bad'' dancers were flooded by so many other dancers that it made them stand out for being ''worse'' , and they had to share the spotlight with so many, so I feel little bad for them. Im surprised Monika chose to include so many extra dancers, esp since she went the extra mile and got Gaeko acapella for the song.

Hyojin : Event though, Hyojin's groups finally got some screen time, their performance was cut down. It was obvious that she didn't get any ''bad'' dancers in her group, but the choreography lacked. It was to simple, it felt too safe, I hope for more complexity, but overall it was just okay. Not bad, nor good. It was just an okay performance. I wasn't wowed. I honestly expected so much more esp since she had 2 good dancers, I mean we might even call Jiyoon better than good, if we are honest. Somebody else said on the show that their performance was like an Mcount performance, and I agree so much with that.

Leejung : Even though her dancers weren't the best, (which was noticeable when they performed) their performance really suited them. She did a great choreographing for them. Each moves suited them, without it looking too awkward, HOWEVER, it there was too much focus on her. It felt like Leejung and bad dancers. Instead of being DDX with a mini special appearance by Leejung. She stole the spotlight a bit too much...

Rihey : Honestly, it amazed me how great of a choreo she did for them. It suited them, and the extra dancers didn't take the spotlight from them. It felt like a hiphop crew and not a dance performance by a bunch of ''bad'' dancers. I really loved the stage.

Noze : ..., I honestly don't know what to say. It looked like a performance done by a bunch of bad dancers. The performance really disappointed me. Maybe I expected too much from them but when looking at the other groups who did an amazing job, theirs feel a bit flat. I assume that Noze didn't have a lot time to teach them since the pointed out that in the rehearsal that she pointed out their mistakes with the dumdi dumdi part many time and should have been able to perform, but since they couldn't it meant that they didn't practice that much.

Aiki : Really good performance, but the ''bad'' dancers didn't stand out too much, the only one was the comedian. It was quite noticeable that they weren't the best dancers, but it was a great performance, but I remember more Hook than the ''bad'' dancers from that performance...

Honey J : Again like Aiki's group, the performance was solid, but like Aiki's group it felt like Holy bang and Hook ft bad dancers. The performance itself was really good. Nobody really stood out to be a bad dancer, they all seemed either okay or good.

Gabee : I was a little disappointed in the performance, if I've got to be honest. I expected more. The story felt a little flat as I didn't see the message through the dance. But overall it was an okay performance. I might have expected too much from them, but I mean, we DID see her teaching them for like an hour and her telling us about the message and story that was going to be portrayed through the dance.

In her first television interview, Sarah Lane, the professional ballerina who was actress Natalie Portman's dance double in \"Black Swan,\" accused filmmakers of lying about how much Lane danced in the film, and trying to cover it up.

In \"Black Swan,\" Portman played a talented and tormented ballerina, whose searing descent into madness is mirrored by her incredible dancing on stage. But a recent controversy sprang up after Lane claimed to not only have danced in some of the movie's most unforgettable scenes that earned Portman a best actress Oscar, and that filmmakers asked her to refrain from talking about her role.

Portman's face was superimposed onto Lane's body through special effects called \"face replacement\" in pivotal dance scenes to make it appear as if it were Portman executing technically sophisticated moves.

In a written statement, \"Black Swan\" director Darren Aronofsky said, \"Here is the reality. I had my editor count shots. There are 139 dance shots in the film -- 111 are Natalie Portman untouched. Twenty-eight are her dance double Sarah Lane. If you do the math, that's 80 percent Natalie Portman.\"

\"Black Swan\" editor Andy Weisblum agreed to take a closer look for \"20/20.\" \"There are about 35 shots that are full body shots in the movie. Of those 35 shots, 12 are Natalie, and then the rest are Sarah,\" Weisblum said. \"But over the overall film, Natalie did a lot more than that. I mean, she did most of the other shots. It was sometimes hard for me to tell the difference as the editor, it was so close.\"

My first dance film I think, and it was terrific entertainment. I honestly didn't see it coming. I despise reality show talent contests and this is set in that world. We even have an evil Simon Cowell character (Hugh Grant lookalike to boot) but the real deal is more of a wanker I'd wager. Even more than this would-be rapist. But this film won me round by knowing exactly what is and being bloody good at it. There's a fair bit of cheese and heartstrings moments but it didn't irritate me once.

This film popped up in my netflix suggestions and watched it after a very long time, The dance choreography still looks amazing. Although the dialogues and characters felt cheesy but dance sequences covered it up for me.

ABCD (Any Body Can Dance) is a must watch not only for dance lovers but also for those who like good cinema, writes Prasanna D Zore.

To put it simply, ABCD or Any Body Can Dance, written and directed by choreographer Remo D'Souza is entertainment, entertainment and entertainment.

Technically and production-wise, ABCD, howsoever the title may sound silly, punches you hard. Niftily edited dance sequences, a chase that is a mix of dancing and eye-popping jumps, make ABCD the Dabangg of dancing. The dance numbers are brilliantly executed and the thrill quotient is highly enhanced as you watch the movie in three dimensions.

While the film belongs to Prabhu Deva as a self-respecting dance teacher who parts ways with his manipulative friend Jehangir (Kay Kay Menon) for the love of dancing, it belongs as much to D, Rocky, Chandu, Ria, Biscuit among a score of other dancers with whom the nation will identify easily.
