PA Update Online Database - pilot

Dear Friends,

For the last couple of years we have been working on a project supported
by the DST-GISE Hub at IIT Bombay to create a consolidated online
database with all the information published in the PA Update since 1994.
This is a collaborative project of the Environment and Ecology Research
Group (EERG), C-TARA at IIT Bombay, Kalpavriksh, The Foundation for
Ecological Security and the Duleep Matthai Nature Conservation Trust.

We have a semblance of an output now. At the link below is this entire
database for the states of Maharashtra and Karnataka of more than 1000
stories put together. We have also tried to add value by assigning some
basic themes and sub-themes to each story in the belief that this will
help in navigating and finding patterns, trends etc.

We are sending this out as a pilot to get
initial feedback, suggestions and ideas. Please have a critical look at
this and let us know what you think on all aspects - content,
navigation, access, usefulness, relevance ...everything.

This is crucial for us as this will be the basis for us deciding next
steps in the finalisation of the database.
