Greetings to all of you!

The snow is beautiful here this morning. We received a blanket of about 5 or more inches of snow yesterday. The sunshine this morning is making it glisten. It looks inviting to go out and take a walk, but with the temperatures around 0, I think I will stay inside awhile longer. It is supposed to reach 9 degrees today. It is just a reminder that winter is on its way! Our crops will appreciate having a little buffer zone from the cold temperatures. It is amazing how well the snow insulates the ground. We are thankful for whatever moisture we get as we still don't have a surplus of moisture in the soil from the drought conditions over the past two years.

We trust you all had an enjoyable Thanksgiving weekend. We had a busy time here with 29 of us together on Thursday for a soup supper and again on Saturday for a big meal with turkey and all the trimmings. Steve's siblings all gathered together from the east and the west and our son came up from the south. So, we had representatives from Virginia, California and Arkansas as well as all of us from Iowa. We hadn't had everyone together since 2006 so there were a lot of changes. Some of the cousins got married and 4 little ones joined the family. It was a blessing to share with each other all that the Lord has been doing in each of our lives.

We are processing flour and cereal to take to the DSM Indoor Farmer's Market at the Capital Square on Friday and Saturday. If we get things ready in time, we will be at the market on Friday, but with the cold weather we will be slowed down some. Therefore, if you want to make sure you find us, you should plan on coming Saturday from 9-1. If you would like to pick up an order, the sooner you contact us via email or a phone call, the easier it will be for us to get it ready for you. We do have Einkorn Flour for those of you who would like to try that.

For those of you interested in grass-fed beef, now is the time to put your order in before it is all sold. We will be butchering a couple calves in January and the meat will be ready the first half of February. You can call or email for pricing. We will have a couple hogs to butcher about March, so it isn't too early to get your name on the list for that, too.

Have a blessed New Year!

Teresa (for the Paul family)
