Greetings to each of you!

I sometimes wish I had the time to write to each one of you personally since you have all been a part of our lives in so many ways. Your support has meant a lot to us and we are looking forward to what this new season has in store for us.

Our winter seemed to go on forever this year. Around the first week of December the extremely cold temperatures arrived and just now they seem to be thinking about letting some warmer temperatures sneak into our area, at least that is what the forecast says at the moment! Our next venture out to sell out products will be Tuesday, March 11th, in Ames, IA. We will display our products there at the Farm-to-Folk distribution from 4-6 p.m. If you would like to pick up an order there or elsewhere in the area that afternoon or evening, give us a call (641) 476-3373 or send us an email:  sp...@heartofiowa.net

We are anticipating the arrival of kids, lambs, and calves over the next several months. They always bring excitement to the barns. It is so fun to just observe them frolicking around. We still haven't taken our hogs to the locker yet, but should be doing so before long, so if you are interested in some pork products, let us know soon so we can put you on our list.

We were hoping to get more work done on our granary building during the winter, but the carpenter only found one day that it was warm enough to attempt working on it. Therefore, we don't have much to report about that aspect of our business. Right now we are focusing on getting the equipment ready to tackle the field work as soon as the soil warms up. In past years we have sown the oats mid to late March. Right now, the ground is still frozen, so it will be a while yet before it thaws and then warms up enough to plant. It will be interesting to see how it all works out. It is comforting to remember that the Lord knows the way through the wilderness and all we have to do is follow. We do want to keep Him in the forefront of all that we do.

Enjoy the spring right where you are and we will be in touch.

Teresa (for the Paul family)
