to Paul's PNG Mission Trip
(January 8th, 2010)

Well, it's been awhile since I've emailed everyone. I hope that you
all
had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

I received a phone call a couple weeks ago that said my paperwork has
finally started moving through the channels in Papua New Guinea.
That's
right, it's progress. It looks like I might be able to depart
sometime
in February, possibly as soon as the second week. However we haven't
made the jump to purchase airplane tickets yet. When that happens,
I'll
know it's for sure. Until then I'm trying not to get too excited in
case I'm delayed further.

The second part of good news I just received in my email. The New
Holland tractor was delivered via Russian Helicopter this morning
(January 8th) to the village of Kaiam. What that means is there are
now
two tractors to help with the airstrip process, and actual progress
can
now be made because the other tractor was always breaking down. It
also
means that there's now work for me to do. Not that there wasn't
before,
but it would have been a little tough to work on the airstrip with a
broken down tractor. Talk about spinning your wheels in the mud.

It's strange to realize how much God is in control and that he thought
I
should stick around in Fairbanks while the tractor sat around waiting
for more than a year (yeah, longer than I've been trying to get there)
to be delivered.

Next step: Plane ticket!

Paul
