(Thank goodness Gordon didn't delete the old group; after I realized my
error, I thought this post was gone!)

Hey Kids!
Just wanted to report on a recent P&S sighting, on November 29 at The
Intersection (Front Lounge) in Grand Rapids, Michigan (133 Grandville
SW, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503; 20% gratuity to parties of 8 or
more).
The boys ROCKED, as expected. I wanted to grab the set list for this
report, but we got ushered out so fast after the show, I didn't get
the chance... Anyway...
My partners and I arrived around 6:30PM - the show was to start at 8.
We had the choice of seats (nice, for general admission), and got to
really experience the angst-ridden, new age band that played in the
"main room" of The Intersection - an annoyance thru-out the first half
of the show.
Jonathon Coulton started the show (fashionably late, about 8:20; the
guys were busy hawking at the merch table - tho' I offered to help),
and really got everyone involved with his 'high tech' repertoire -
complete with harmonic feedback. JC called P&S up a couple times to
assist on his set: 'Fucking Outside' was a crowd pleaser... And he had
a pretty cool Zombie sing-along going, with dissonant harmonies;
Charles Ives would have been proud.
But I skip ahead...
When the guys arrived, me and my 2 friends were the only ones there.
We bade our hellos, hugs and "how ya doin?" happening all around. Then
the Bouncer/Manager/Large-in-Charge-Whatever comes around and tells us
we have to leave our seats and go stand in line (admittedly, at the
bar, which could have been worse) until the doors opened.
Paul (God bless him) said, "It's okay, we know these guys".
To which Manager guy says, "Sorry, we got regs to follow".
To which I said to Paul, "Well, I see how much weight you guys carry
around here..."
Mr. In Charge eventually said it was okay for us to keep our seats.
Paul & Storm took the stage to a crowd that was - quite thankfully -
much larger than my party and Paul's Aunt's, which was the case the
last time the boys were in town. The work they've been doing on the
The Bob & Tom show is paying off; that show has significant listening
in our area. The room was small - but packed.
P&S did a mix of stuff from their CD, and from the Bob & Tom produced
'News to Us' (which I just finished listening to, and now have to go
change my drawers - it's that funny), with some occasional harmony
thrown in by Jonathon Coulton.
And - as I said - they ROCKED! What an excellent evening.
But doggone, when they finished, the staff cleared the joint fast - I
mean unceremoniously fast. Ah well, no matter.
Guys, if you read this - nice job! And if you ever think that the
Barry-Tones could do a number or two the next time you're in GR, I can
provide the other two parts (just name them) and they will be
'snot-locker' perfect...
That's about all for this sighting,
Wish you all a safe and happy holiday(s).

No, we didn't delete anything. It makes me happy to see people using this again, especially posting concert stories (as I must live through them from 6,000 miles away). Keep writing, people. :)

Well being 6,000 miles away doesn't have to be an impossible barrier in this age of jet travel. There is no reason Paul and Storm can't play in Israel. Maybe they just need a nudge.

Nudge.

Namaste,
Gordon
