Typical Role - Leading Data science of recommendation engine that entails following components:
1. Min experience of 12+ years in Data science with 7 years min in leading in Data science
2. Provide engineering leadership for recommendation engines –
a. Managing data science roadmaps
b. Managing 10 different models, things to improve in model, prioritize them, align priorities with product, make sure right people are working under right features
c. Keep investing in R&D. Recommendation systems are changing rapidly so make sure that our systems stay relevant to state of the art.
3. Architecting machine learning platform - To keep delivering new models & new solutions, fully automated on Google Cloud.
4. Leading supporting team (Small MLops team) - Devops engineers & data engineers to enable data science team to deploy models in production system
5. Leading (not formally) - Data Lake team - Also called feature store (Click stream, product catalog, user information from various sources) that is used by recommendation engine - real time & batches - Simple APIs & simple metadata store - Small team of data engineers working on data lake pipelines
Current role:
1. Architecting the whole system & being the product counterpart
2. Hands on – Machine learning & pipelines
Expectation:
1. Data Science roadmap for account recommendation engine
2. Bring production deployment experience
