Role: Sr Cloud Engineer
Length: 6 months contract
Location: 1525 Windward Concourse United States 30005 Alpharetta GA

Responsibilities:
·         In this role SRE will be responsible for migrating On-prem Big data platforms to GCP cloud.
·         Guide teams with DevOps best practices, including improved scalability, performance, reliability, and speed to market
·         Design, develop and execute Terraform scripts to provision needed services in GCP.
·         Provide guidance in technical design, and plan team activities and providing direction to team members
·         Guiding Infrastructure engineering teams to drive new technologies into the stack that provide tangible value to our business and consumers Key Skills:
o   Languages: Python, Bash, Groovy
o   Optional: Ruby, PowerShell
o   Cloud: GCP (Optional: AWS)
o   Orchestration: Terraform, CloudFormation
o   Configuration Management: Ansible
o   Optional: Chef
o   Containers: Docker, Kubernetes
o   CI/CD practices and tools. (Jenkins pipeline DSL, Nexus, Git, Docker Registry, etc..)

Soft Skills:
·         Ability to communicate project needs across all business lines
·         Ability to speak cross-functionally with business units and software engineering teams
·         Ownership, accountability, and self-managed professional to work in a project with multiple stakeholders Must Haves
·         BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent job experience required
·         5+ years of progressive experience in Technology that includes Agile and DevOps practices.
·         3-5+ years of experience developing and/or administering software in public cloud (GCP or AWS)
·         Expertise in languages such as Python, Bash, Java, Go, Perl
·         Experience in monitoring infrastructure and application uptime and availability to ensure functional and performance objectives.
·         Demonstrable cross-functional knowledge with systems, storage, networking, integration, security and database technologies
·         System administration skills, including automation and orchestration of Linux/Windows using Terraform, Chef, Puppet, etc.
·         Experience in operating system that leverage containerized compute platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
·         Proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery tooling and practices
·         Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Required Skills/Experience
·         Bachelor’s degree
·         3+ years of overall experience, to include a minimum of 5 years of enterprise, full-life cycle in Architecture in the professional IT/Software Development services industry.
·         3+ years of experience with Java / J2EE technologies and Architecting solutions using Web technologies
·         1+ years project experience migrating and deploying cloud based solutions (GCP, or AWS)
·         Understanding of Infrastructure as a Service, Infrastructure as Code and related concepts on public cloud.
·         Proven experience as a successful senior engineer and/or cloud engineer highly desirable
·         Container experience with Docker and Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms

Job Description Summary
·         Develop strategic design and requirements as a major contributor to a projects’ success for large revenue generating systems/products.
·         Identify improvements in systems and work and participates in estimation process, use case specifications, reviews of test plans and test cases, requirements, and project planning.
·         Participate in discovery sessions from technical standpoint and interact with stakeholders to understand the requirements;
·         Conduct technical architecture, design for POCs on new approach/technology.
·         Consistently demonstrations clear technical judgment, innovation, and consideration for the projects’ objectives.
·         Able to provide technical guidance, supervise others, provide instructions, and debug code written by team members.
·         Self-starter, motivated, and actively learning and researching new methods of work and new technology.
·         Contributions of this level spans across the team and the development platform.
·         Consistently hit development time estimates without underestimating or overestimating ability.
·         Guide and mentor junior developers in developing code and workflow procedures, and conduct code reviews.
·         Perform general application design, development activities, including unit testing, code deployment to development environment and technical documentation.

·         Design and Develop software that can scale for large volume batch and online systems
·         Ability to handle large volume of proprietary data, introspect and provide valuable contribution and insights.
·         Must have experience working on GCP/AWS Services, infrastructure design and requirements.
