Position : Sr Data Engineer
Location : REMOTE
Duration : 6 + Months
Responsibilities:
As an investigatory role, your primary responsibilities include investigating, documenting, and where appropriate raising risks around:
• Users and processes that work within our database systems
• Users and processes that consume products produced within our database systems
• Users and processes that produce external inputs into our database processes
• Dependency chains and their reliance on technology planned for deprecation
• Processing and storage utilization
• Database links and intra-database connection approaches
• Deprecation timelines and dependency mitigation
• Monitoring progress and utilization of targeted technologies or tools
Minimum Skills Required:
• Bachelor’s degree (typically in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Business Analytics or another technically strong program), plus 2 years of experience
• Proven Big Data technology development experience including Hadoop, Spark (PySpark), and Hive
• Oracle database and related tools ( min. 1-2 years of experience)
• Understanding of Agile Principles (Scrum)
• Experience developing with Python
• Cloud Development (Azure)
• Exposure to VCS (Git, SVN)
Position Specific Skill Preferences
• Strong experience working with Oracle PL/SQL, administrative capabilities, and stored procedures
• Ability to understand complex data structures, and write queries against them to enable dashboarding or other reporting tools
