Lots of progress on look and feel and basic functionality.
Take a look at the home page:
and please click around.  Only one pattern page is reasonably well fleshed out:

(Note - the site works on ie8, chrome, safari, and firefox.  ie7 is buggy, still.)

Feedback welcome!

I'll be looking to load in patterns, next...

Hi Lev

The site is looking very clean.

There are many places where we could provide feedback. It is hard to know where to start.  It would be really helpful if you could ask questions on 3 or 4 topics so we could provide feedback on specific issues.

If nothing else, I see a game brewing. Drag a pattern onto a place  or a place on to a pattern. If you guess correctly, the items disappear. The fewer the mistakes and the faster the completion, the higher the score.

Yodan -

Thanks for the feedback.  I'm CC'ing the dev list here, to keep conversation on this topic in a reference-able thread.

Design-wise, I was going for a simple, clean look.  You're right that it mirrors that book form, and doesn't push the boundaries of the screen medium.  Underneath it all, it's based on reasonably flexible 12-column layout gird.  I can put together other layouts and see what we like.

Since this is an area that our wider community can contribute to - I'm going to aim to engage them.  I'll post it over on the user list, with your ideas, and solicit further feedback.

Lev

(and - sorry for the delay.  I was away for the weekend.)

Hi Lev,

Glad to see some movement. I hope you are well wherever you are.

For now I'll limit myself to format issues. I think it's too similar to the book format and doesn't adapt itself to the limitations and potential of the screen. So here goes for the details.

I think the image should be to the side, particularly if it's small. Computer screens now are wider than longer, and it's important to get as much as possible within one screen with no need for scrolling.

The problem and solution statements should be boldened or otherwise emphasized.

The discussion should be summarized or just begun allowing to read the whole of it if one wants to using another click on more...

Why is the subtitle: building closer to the heart not visible in the header but only if you put the pointer on the title.

Keep at it.

Bolded up the problem and solution.
Playing with a show-hide of the discussion...
