Dear Fellows,

The start of the PF administration has been impressive indeed. But, as you suggest, the government of Zambia is something that all Zambians must involve themselves in. Politicians, in a land where people are mute, were allowed to do what they wish. We must not allow a repeat of the MMD administration and its succession of "Big Man' politics.

The PF Government is unique in Africa - and possibly the world, in that it is a Christian Government, an administration seeking to uplift the 99% of the people rather than to give succour only to big business and the mafuta elite. It is also a Government that has accepted the sacred duty of looking after the environment and the poor. This is revolutionary in an increasingly secular world.

Our President has moved swiflty and with great resolve. I look forward to Commissions of Inquiry into the following:
  1. The Zambia Wildlife Authority - which the President had assured me four years ago he would close down and re-instate the former civil service department that had run matters since its formation in 1949. To this must be added an investigation into the illegal alienation of protected state land i.e, National Parks and National Forests
  2. The environmental and social effects of the mining industry and its plans for the future - bearing in mind such illegal actions as Banda's when he allowed the Chinese to begin mining at Ichimpe without the necessary environmental studies being conducted.
  3. The operations of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Immigration) and the corrupt treatment of investors such as myself
  4. Based on the AG's reports, the investigation and prosecution of those able easily to be brought to justice
  5. Investigations into the alienation of customary land and into those chiefs that had been removed from office by the House of Chiefs but re-instated by Banda
Calls to forgive and forget must not be heeded. Those who stole Zambia's money and committed human rights abuses must be brought to justice. Forgiveness can only come once the sentence has been endured.

And then there is the matter of the development of the sorts of policies in tune with Zambia's culture of community and its age-old search for equitible solutions to problems - something British law finds difficulty in delivering.

As I wrote elsewhere...

The great challenge remains: Zambia, as a nation state - a nebulous idea at best, must somehow enjoin its many tribal nations, speaking many tongues, into an African participatory democracy, but more importantly, into a recovered state of moral legitimacy. This is the task now, from 23 September 2011, to be undertaken by the Patriotic Front government, a Christian administration intent on socio-economic justice. Zambians must ensure that such justice is delivered.

Yours, etc.,

Dr Ian Manning

Dear fellows,
The start of the P.f administration has been good. My only worry are this people living
MMD to join Pf.
I think this people should first be screened. We don't want rotten eggs in the new G.R.Z

I am also concerned. We don't want people with bad back grounds to start surrounding our well deserved leaders especially over the fight against corruption. Our Leaders should be alert.

Ignatius,

Please may highlight the need for the government to put up young people in serious positions of influence, mind you there are the ones that gave this government a winning vote, right now what on the ground doesn’t impress the youth much ,we changed because we wanted our issues to be addressed  among the so many cardinal ones are positions in government that is the voice of the youth by the youth, employment, the only way we are going to be heard is by these appointments ,please the old will not adequately address youth issues because they don’t know them and its not their passion with all due respect “ can we be allowed to sit in positions that can address youths issues than been represented by people who are out of our league. This a patriotic front a party that was voted by a popular vote and we all know who voiced out their voices most they surely  need to know what it means to cast a ballot and what it means to have casted the ballot. I hope this message get across to the party president and the republican president. We want to walk the talk in 90 days so that if we achieve we would have achieved and failed together  rather than start to explain success or failures  that you were not given chance to actively address as youths.

Let us be allowed to make our own success, mistakes and failure ,because from them we would have learnt the lesson.

It is error alone which needs the support of government. Truth can stand by itself.

I agree with you gift. The old guys in this PF govt ought to work with the young ones.Ive only seen that combination in the Ministry of Labour where Shamenda is deputised by Mbulu and in the Ministry of Mines where Simuusa is deputised by Musukwa. We need more young leaders even in full cabinet positions.Thats how Sata&VJ to name but a few got the experience.
This must begin to happen now!I totally agree with you.

Regards,
Yewa.

Its only prudent that right now we as a party recognize the many contributions that the boat of youths did and see what is it that their can do and wants to do because love it or hate they will be here for  next election, and the future that we so much preach about is in their hands ,the question is have forgotten tides that carried the boat and concentrated on the captain and the passenger?  Better give kaisale what belong to kaisale.

Gents, its only been a month since the govt changed from mmd to pf. Why can't we have and exercise some form of patience? All I seem to see in these emails are fellow youth just hungry for power and things to be done, "their way". C'mon, the 90 day period in which we would see change is only one third done.

Lets show some maturity, and it will come to us. Lets not bombard the old man from within, right now, coz its not helping. We changed govt for a better country for our children, and our children's children. Remember, Rome was not built in a day. So let us give chance to  Ba tata, to lead us to a better place, lets us understand his reasoning and vision, before saying those things. We changed govt not for us to be rewarded at the end of the day, but for a better country for all. I don't know about you, but I voted for change, coz I want to improve the well being of our pipo. Why did you vote?

My dear friends I already can see that some people voted for there stomach and not for the future of our country and at the end of it all a better place for our children. Why should we all start fighting for jobs now instead of rallying behind sata and giving him all our support to change things for the better?

Danny ,

It was here on this site we learned to disagree without being disagreeable - that it's possible to compromise so long as you know those principles that can never be compromised; and that so long as we're willing to listen to each other, we can assume the best in people instead of the worst. we are not bombarding our father anything and its not power hungry as you see it, its called sharing ideals and thought and mention something that’s been said by those who haven’t access to forums like this, you never know!! What u just suggested here gives answers and advice  to many.

If you read the PF constitution it clearly says The Party guided by humbleness and self-criticism.

The militant organization of revolutionary peasants, workers and intellectuals”.  So the day will stop checking our selves that the day will lose ground we  share the notion of or the assumption that pipo wants rewards when they talk about issues, that’s a very narrow view the reward is the victory we got. But gentlemen I thought this a forum to share ideals and respect tentacles of our democracy believe me you “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it and remember truth between candid minds can never does harm anyone I so much as we agree that Rome wasn’t built in a day we also appreciate that everyday a brick was laid on the structure and that’s a beauty of our party, the test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function . “let pray for each other that we don’t stop to chat just because we are in power”.

O God, our gracious Heavenly Father, help us to see the insights that come from this new nation. Help us to follow Thee and all of Thy creative works in this world, and that somehow we will discover that we are made to live together, support each other as brothers And that it will come in this generation: the day when all men will recognize the fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of man. Comrades,
In as much as we have a mammoth task of reviving a patriotic development agenda, we all need to be well-informed on foreign policy issues. It is in this spirit that I forward you this link of an article that argues how Africa is pitched against the West. Albeit one-sided, I find the article hypnotizing and definitely an eye opener away from BBC, CNN, VOA. http://www.rightsmonitoring.org/2011/04/why-the-west-wants-the-fall-of-gaddafi-an-analysis-in-defense-of-the-libyan-rais/#.TqMiu6xuXlQ.facebook

Regards,
Yewa.

Concerned Citizen

Let us be allowed to make our own success, mistakes and failure ,because from them we would have learnt the lesson.

It is error alone which needs the support of government. Truth can stand by itself.

Dear fellows,

The start of the P.f administration has been good. My only worry are this people living

MMD to join Pf.

I think this people should first be screened. We don't want rotten eggs in the new G.R.Z

Afternoon Fellow Zambian

Lets all not relent. Having vote in the PF was not an end in itself but the begin of a more challenging crusade, one anchored on zero-torelance to corruption. This government will deliver on the promise if us who are patriotic continuously monitor, evaluate and inform the powers that be of any short comings. We all can help. Lets share our observations and opinions in a professional way without fear or favour. This is our government and it needs our support and encouragement.

Let begin by reveiwing the first 20 days of the PF in governemnt. What are your comments?? Be candid in your comments no insults.
