Good afternoon.  I hope that everyone is drying out after all the rain that we had.  Its a good thing it wasn't marching band season.  I have some updates for you about several things.

First of all, thank you to everyone for supporting our BBQ Dinner Fundraiser.  It turned out to be a big success and I look forward to doing it again in the future.  Also, thank you to St. Charles Catholic Church for allowing us to use their facilities.

Our concert is going to be one week from today on Tuesday, May 14th.  It will be at 7:00pm at CoMMA.  We are playing some really challenging music and I think it is going to be a very crowd pleasing program.  We will also honor our seniors at their last high school band concert.

We will be having a booster meeting on May 16th in the band room.  This has changed from this evening due to a conflict that I had.  I apologize for the change.  We will be voting on officers for next year, so please come out and support your band program.

Forms have been given out to all of the students for next year.  The forms consist of the band contract, student information sheet, uniform agreement, medical and trip release form, order form, and a band booster form.  All of the colored form need to be returned along with the band fee by May 31st.

This weekend is the 1st Annual Jazz Festival.  It will be located around downtown Morganton, primarily on the square.  The FHS Jazz Combo will be playing at 3:00 at The Grind.  The main stage will also be cranked up from 3:00-8:00pm with the Hickory Jazz Orchestra, the Original King Street Jazz Band, Joe Hasty and Centerpiece Jazz, and Geoff Clapp.  There is going to be some great music so I encourage you to come and check it out.  There is no admission for this event.

Thank you all and I look forward to seeing you next week at our concert.  Let me know if you have any questions.
