Now, we are looking back at 2010 elections. Looking ahead from here,
we will soon have some important signals of the position of the
Republican Party with respect to their commitment to principle over
politics as usual. O'Donnell's loss is the best example of how the
GOP becomes an enemy of patriot candidates, and the corresponding
principles of liberty and limited government they represent.

Here are the two signals that I see to see which way the wind is
blowing. And, they'll be coming up very soon:

(1) In January, will Michael Steele be re-elected as Republican Party
chairman? If yes, then its more "politics as usual" Electing an
alternative would also surely signal a move to a more principled
position. (It's not personal; but symbolic; I know that Michael did
what he could to campaign personally for Christine)

(2) Will Republicans in congress elect Michelle Bachmann as chairman
of the House Republican Caucus (to deliver the party's message to the
public)? Electing Michelle would signal a clear message of commitment
to principle over "politics as usual".

Watch these signals; and the deliberations around these decisions, to
get a sense of the size of the mountain before us still.

Accountability, as always, remains in the hands of voters in the
process of elections. Leaving the field now, thinking that victory is
won, is a big mistake. It will almost surely condemn us to "politics
as usual" - the environment where folks like Obama's socialist agenda
takes root and grows. The brave patriot candidates and office-
holders, cannot do the work that only "we, the people" must do in the
electoral process. We must say to them: "We've got your back!"
