I was thinking about holding short, arena-style battles where PFS-rule characters would (re)battle some of the more interesting PFS BBEGs that they've faced or just go do battle in an arena

Obviously no credit would be involved, but for times (generally late-night) where there's a lot of interest but everyone's played the available scenarios or people don't have the time for a full scenario (or where people just want to battle-test a character concept) I thought it'd be interesting to have something everyone could jump in on for a 30-minute bit of Pathfindering

The requirements I was considering:
Players would use existing PFS Characters or PFS-rule characters
Players must have already played/GMd the scenario (so it doesn't ruin the fun later)
Combat scenarios would be as encountered in the original or in another suitable environment (not doing planes unless in the original)

Alternately, just opening up the arena and letting the gladiators discover what they discover

Or face each other in individual, paired, or group PVP

If the concept caught on, there could be longer team battles developed where a group could battle 3-5 BBEGs (resurrections and reset after each battle) and score their total victories against the enemy's

Just figured I'd put a feeler out for interest before I started setting up tables

Personally, I find this concept amusing and novel. I would be interested in such a thing.

Personally, and this is just throwing an idea out there... I think there should be various types of matches in regards to PvP... one in which it is mostly for good fun, almost like an exhibition matches, while other players can take part in tourneys for either teams, or single combat. (Exhibition matches could be held in this sort of style as well, of course, but I was thinking more along the lines of, one can level up their 'gladiator' as they win more fights.) This way you can have the spirit of fun and the spirit of competition all in one!

I like the Idea, and will be up for it.

There is also a pretty good resource for Pathfinder 1-on-1 and team PvP called "Pathfinder: Conflict PvP - Tactics & Teams"

You can also get the PDF on DriveThruRPG.com for $12 US:

The Conflict PVP rules Ironhelixx mentions are very good.  They cover how to build up characters, handle invisible movements, and have a variety of game types.  I would definitely be interested in getting involved with something like this.

I might actually have to create a character just for this. Sparky the Sorcerer would be an interesting combatant.

SO... how about we get one of these set up, like get 6 events going.
1) PvP- we set rules for One-on-One, maybe have it like one bracket is Weapon on Foot, and another could be Mage Duel, even a Mounted set.
2) Party Vs Party- this would be teams of 4-6 Player taking each other on, taking terms from Halo, Team Slayer, Capture the Flag and King of the Hill
3) Battle Royal- this would be like PvP but would have 4-6 Player all trying to be the last hero standing
4) Party Vs Horde- this would be a Party of 4-6 Player taking on a Horde of Monsters, Like Goblins, Orcs and Boggard
5) Gantlet- this would be a set of monsters the Players have to fight Back-to-Back, this could be 1 Hero or a Team, I say there be like 10 fights to get to the end
6) DRAGON FIGHT- this is just a fight with a dragon CR = ACL+4
What do you guys think?

I am SO in for this. I will make a character for whatever level range lol.

Questions...
Can we use PFS chronicle sheet items? Ex. Braid of A Hundred Masters from #3-13?

we could have a set where it is, you use a PFS character as if you were to use them in a Scenario, but just not give credit for what we do off the books

Sorry guys, shift in things at work so I didn't have time to follow up on this like I wanted to. If someone else wants to jump in as the lead, they're more than welcome. Otherwise, I'm still planning on putting stuff together, it's just gonna take a bit longer ;)

How about we do a trial run on the 9th, we grab some Players, get a server running and have a Go at it.
lets make it easy, one-on-one PvP like a fight club in Absalom, say Tier 7-9, Melee weapons on foot, we can get a list of who could Play that day and get players put in a bracket. We do need to come up with rules, like no debuffs, or spells that end thing like Dominate Person, but that is something can go over.
