Hello. As the title says. I have been struggling to find a group IRL so I thought I'd try online play instead. All the groups where I am located meet only very rarely and at times I can never seem to make due to my schedul so I thought I'd join this group so I could play at times a bit more convenient to me and, hopefully, more often. I am very new to Pathfinder, and have not played a game of D&D IRL since middle school. I have a lot of system knowledge from theorycraft on optimization forums, extensive experience with Neverwinter Nights and online play via forums(mainly 3.5e though some PF as well.), but am still ultimately a "new" player. I have yet to actually make ,my first character for PF society, though I will do so shortly when I decide between the competing concepts I have. Anyway...since I am very new to gmail in general and have no idea how to navigate it(I've always been a yahoo kind of guy) and could not find a discussion for introductions I decided to post mine here. If I violated some rule without me knowing please, inform me, as I am very new to this google groups stuff. Hope to game with you all soon!

Myself as a gamer: As a player I prefer spellcaster classes, in particular arcane classes though I also play divine when I feel like it. I tend to play neutral and evil characters(with Lawful Evil being my favored alignment.), though occasionally will play a more heroic type if the mood strikes me. PF-society faction wise while I have not yet decided I'm leaning heavily towards Cheliax or Qadira.(Or possibly Andoran if I decide to go against my usual thing and actually play *gasp* a good aligned character instead of a darker neutral!) I also tend to do strange things mechanically for RP, like, say, making wizards with 16 charisma and social skills. I enjoy characters with good int and cha, and tend to shy away from characters with int below 12 and cha below 14. Also, while I love the cleric class, I tend to shy away from classes that require high wisdom because my IRL wisdom score isn't that great so I find RPing high wis to be difficult. Finally, I love all options that have a dark fluff to them(though that dosen't always mean I play only evil and neutral characters because, as TV tropes says, dark=/=evil in all cases.) and as a result favor necromancy and enchantment focused characters as far as spellcasters are concerned. On the rare chance I play a melee character it's usually one that also has access to magic of some kind, such as a battle Oracle or Magus. Game-wise I am a mix of RPer and optimizer who is neither truly devoted to one thing or the other. I tend to create backstories and personalities for my characters but am not one to speak in "character voice" unless I feel very confident I can actually do it well and don't like gimping my character for the purpose of RP. On the other hand, most of my optimization knowledge comes from the work of others I.E. handbooks, forum posts and other places like that and as a result I can't call myself a true optimizer because my method of "optimization" is simply following the advice of the true optimizes. I also will do some less then optimal things for the purpose of RP(like giving my wizards more cha then usual and social skills, as mentioned above), so while I like to be effective I am not the kind of person who focuses only on "roll-playing." Anyway..thats basicly all you should need(and most likely more then you need) to know about me as a gamer. I hope to have fun with all of you!

Hi, welcome.
If we you looking to play Society games, since it is an organized play, you can't be a evil Alignment character :(
however! they printed a trait in one of the newer books to let you use intelligence for diplomacy and bluff !! called student of philosophy. your argument is so logical that ppl find it hard to not listen to you :).
