planning engine & real-time data

Congrats on getting your trip planner up & running. I'm wondering
whether real-time arrival data is used in the planning engine to
influence the routing results. (Any pointers to such details would be
interesting). I'm working on the http://opentripplanner.org project
(OTP), and would love to hear that solutions exist to fairly hard
problems, like using real-time arrival data to influence routing on a
transit graph.

BTW, any plans to release the code as an open source project?

Hello Frank,

Thanks for your email. The real-time predicted arrival data is used
in our planning system for a large number of transit routes. You can
find details in two working papers in this link:

Currently, we have no plan to open our source codes, which
involves a lot of institutional and governmental issues.
