The mobile app features a stern warning to not use it while driving.
All well and good, but the app refuses to function when it detects
that the user is in motion. Can somebody tell the nanny that the app
is designed for use in conjunction with public transportation? If the
user is in motion, it is more likely than not she is on a bus or a
train or a ferry. She's stuck if she wants to change itineraries while
in transit. In my case, I sometimes don't have time to fully plan my
trip in advance, because a new destination presents itself on short
notice. I get on a bus after quickly figuring out the arrival time at
a new stop, but once I'm on the bus I can't use the app to figure out
what the best mode is for the next leg, or the arrival times at the
next stop. If it's Caltrain or BART, I can use other mobile apps to
get that information, but if it's a bus, then I'm screwed. I have to
try to steal a couple of minutes at the transfer point to use the app
to plan the next hop. Ooops, missed that connection because of the 120
seconds it took me to do that. Fail.
