Just a question: does Project Lucidity fall exclusively under the maps committee, or is it also associated with Trail Patrol? The reason I ask is I was wondering if I should continue to report our efforts (and recruit) at trail patrol meetings. (Nathan and I both spoke about it at this evening's meeting.) And on a related note, I guess those of us in TP should all be submitting TP reports when we do our GPS outings, especially if we interact with other hikers, providing advice, assistance, etc., or if we note trail problems that need to be corrected.

Janis:

Project Lucidity is a Maps Committee initiative exclusively but please do not hesitate talking about it and recruiting.  If people are out there patrolling the trails any way it seems to me they would be good sources for collecting data.

I guess a related thought would be about accounting for volunteer hours while doing the GPS mapping hikes.  Personally it doesn't matter to me if/how those hours are reported, but it might be important to PATC administration for other reasons (such as demonstrating volunteer hours when applying for grants).  For example, I normally would report my PATC-related hikes on either a trail worktrip form (if doing trailwork) or on a trail patrol report (if acting as a TP representative).  Any thoughts on this?

Your absolutely right.  Reporting volunteer hours for PATC is extremely important and we should be reporting our hours.  For Trail reports is this a on-line form or hard copy for worktrips and trail patrol?  Reason I ask is I am talking to Lee Manning about IT needs for the Maps committee so if they have existing Online forms for the other groups I imagine they can be modified for our group.  I meet with him in the next couple of weeks..
