Hello Thomas, and welcome to the pat-users list!
I am glad to see that the project interests you so much, and it seems like a common interest regarding light and effective operations. I am also involved in emcomm activity through our national and local group, and I am steadily working on improving Pat to the point that it can be a viable tool for emcomm activity.
The project is definitely in need of contributors of any kind, and I am certain that your skills can be of value to us :)
From the top of my head, I would love to see:
* Youtube videos showcasing Pat in various setups.
* Semi-graphical tutorials for specific use-cases/setups (i.e. running Pat on a Raspberry connected to a TH-D74 via bluetooth). Maybe as PDFs?
I've written the "official" documentation pages (
https://github.com/la5nta/pat/wiki) to be as generic as possible regarding hardware. This was a deliberate decision in order to minimize the amount of time I spend writing documentation in these early stages of the project. Of course, this is less than ideal when it comes to drawing in new users in.
I believe a set of documents explaining all the steps needed to get a working setup with some specific hardware would be a valuable contribution to this project. Also, French and Italian translations would be a great bonus IMO.
Youtube videos could be in any form, ranging from informative tutorials to more "show off" videos using Pat as part of some creative setup (e.g. mobile/portable).
Does any of these suggestions sound appealing to you?
I will of course be available and try to answer any technical questions regarding best practice and solutions.
