DR-9400 with MacOS Bluetooth

I got a DR-9400 with Bluetooth. It works fine with Winlink on Windows 10. Thought I’d try it using Pat on MacOS on a silicon Mac.

It will work one beautiful time using Pat on MacOS. Then it won’t work. It’ll say “Connecting to [RMS Name] (pactor)…” and stay there. After a few minutes it’ll say “Unable to establish connection to remote link”. The Bluetooth light on the modem never blinks. It does blink the first time it works.

The modem still shows as connected under Bluetooth settings for MacOS.

Here are some things I’ve tried:

No combination of restarting the computer, radio, Pat, or modem will fix the issue.

Disconnected and reconnected the modem under Bluetooth settings for MacOS. Did not work.

Used sudo pkill bluetoothd to restart bluetooth and reconnected to the modem. Did not work.

Deleted the file com.apple.Bluetooth.plist and restarted the computer. Did not work.

Only one thing works. Forgetting the device and repairing the modem under Bluetooth settings. Then it’ll work once and will not work after that.
