I tried to use a template in Pat - I think I have done this before on this RPi - but it says no templates installed. So I tried to update the templates - and get this message:
Update Form Templates
Current forms version: unknown
can't write update ZIP: context deadline exceeded (Client.Timeout or context cancellation while reading body)

Tried again using the pat command line interface - and got a similar result:
pi@RadioPi3:~ $ pat updateforms
2024/05/18 15:38:11 Updating form templates; current version is unknown
2024/05/18 15:38:11 Updating forms via https://api.getpat.io/v1/forms/standard-templates/Standard_Forms_1.0.250.0.zip
2024/05/18 15:38:21 can't write update ZIP: context deadline exceeded (Client.Timeout or context cancellation while reading body)

Perhaps a permission issue? or ownership issue of some directory?

Hi Jim,

It looks like the download timed out, possibly due to a poor connection on temporary glitch  Can you please try again?

The timeout is set to 10 seconds. We should probably increase this in later releases.

Thank you. I was about to send a message saying I didn't think that was the problem - but decided I would try again as requested... And it worked... Thank you for the suggestion - and I take back all of my bad thoughts about it being a silly suggestion...

My wife and I live full time in a travel trailer. I am setting up an RPi that will work stand alone (being its own hot spot) and connecting it to a Kenwood D72. Using a Mac (or an iPad) as a head for the RPi - and doing Winlink (PAT). With a J-Pole for the HT - I can often (but not always) check in while I travel. I also have a mobile radio in trailer that will get me on HF.
