Error message when attempting to install pat 0.19.2

I am attempting to install pat 0.19.2 on a Linux mint 22.x (Zara?) platform. When I download from the Github and double click, I receive "Error: conflicts with the installed package 'dist'. " 

I have installed pat 0.19.2 on a second platform with the same edition of Mint with no issues.

Recommendations?

 Hi Mike,

Do you have a package named "dist" installed? I believe the error message is suggesting that you have, and that it provides a conflicting file. Please try removing this package with `sudo apt remove dist`.

Hello Martin, As recommended in the list, I performed the operation "sudo apt remove dist" and successfully installed the PAT (Winlink) application. 

However, I don't see this application anywhere. I probably need to use the Terminal, but I don't know how.

I use pat on MacOS 15, not Linux, but here is the zsh script i use to run it. I expect it's the same, or nearly so, in Linux bash terminal:
