Multiplechoice questions are perhaps the easiest to complete - you simply put a cross in a box - however, the questions often have two answers that could, at first glance, be correct. Don't make the mistake of reading the first answer and thinking this is correct without checking all the others.

If it says 'Tick one box', you must tick one box. If you leave it blank or tick two or more boxes you will get zero marks. These multiple choice questions will not start with command words like 'Describe...' or 'Explain...'. They will be written in the form of a question like 'What...?' or 'Why...?'.

Lipids are also stored in humans - under the skin and around some body organs - but they are not carbohydrates. Starch is not stored in humans. Glucose is a carbohydrate but it is very difficult to store.

Increasing the temperature from 40C to 60C will denature the enzymes involved in photosynthesis, while decreasing it from 20C to 10C will slow down the collisions between the enzymes and substrates involved in photosynthesis, lowering the rate of reaction.

This document contains 27 practice questions related to bioenergetics and oxidative phosphorylation. The questions cover topics like standard free energy changes in multi-step reactions, identification of high-energy compounds, components of the electron transport chain, the chemiosmotic hypothesis, and the effects of uncoupling agents. For each question, multiple choice options for the answer are provided.Read less

All questions in this quiz are in reference to Essentials of Strength Training & Conditioning (4th edition), Chapter 3: Bioenergetics of Exercise & Training. This quiz displays a few random questions from the question bank so try each quiz multiple times (just reload the page after you finish). Good luck!

Try to remember which areas you struggled on so you can review those topic areas later. Questions like these are designed to help you remember the basic Scientific Foundations material when you need to apply them in practice. The majority of the CSCS exam is application and analysis-based, so simple recall questions will be limited. Remember, this quiz displays just a few random questions from the question bank. Try each quiz multiple times so you can see all the different questions. There are also more practice questions available on my Facebook page.

Chapter 3 of the Essentials of Strength Training & Conditioning (4th edition) textbook was written by Trent J. Herda, Ph.D. and Joel T. Cramer, Ph.D. This chapter contains a general overview of bioenergetics that will be relevant for taking the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) exam. This chapter covers ATP, basic energy systems of the body, lactate accumulation, metabolic acidosis, fatigue, substrate depletion and repletion, bioenergetic limitations, training for metabolic specificity, metabolic demands and recovery, and optimization of work-to-rest ratios.

This page contains Certified Strength Conditioning Specialist questions to prepare for the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) exam. Certified strength and conditioning specialists are fitness professionals. They are specially trained and experienced in using the application of scientific principles to improve athletic performance. Certified strength and conditioning specialists assist athletes by designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs. Certified strength and conditioning specialists (CSCS) conducting sport-specific performance testing, provide guidance with nutrition, and assist with injury prevention strategies (NSCA, 2015).

This quiz features Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Exam Questions: Chapter 2 material: Bioenergetics of Exercise and Training from Essentials of Strength Training & Conditioning (3rd edition) textbook by Thomas R. Baechle and Roger W. Earle. This is the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) recommended textbook to prepare for the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) exam (NSCA, 2015)

As far as sequencing these follow the AQA spec. Even though there are times when the sequencing might be better another way I have kept to the spec to ensure coverage. I wont be offended if you cut and paste until your heart is content to suite your route through.

If the content is broadly similar for the Combined and Biology you will find one booklet with HT content and triple identified. When there are large differences I have made two versions of the booklet.

Feel free to download and use. If you spot a mistake please let me know. I would think the formatting might need to be checked if you use a different version of word or google docs as, in my experience, things seem to move about a bit.

Hello Adam, I am very appreciative of your willingness to share all of the hard work you have put into your SLOP booklets and I have been using some of the data examples and questions to develop my own SLOP booklets for my AP Biology curriculum. I have looked over the Ecology Booklet and have noticed that there is no Graph Q in the booklet to answer question 175. Is there somewhere that I could reference it and copy it? Possibly a link?

Thank you for your reply in advance.

This is fantastic! This will really help me with planning for school closures now too, as I will use these to base the remote learning on. I will try and put together some answer booklets for them, and send them over.

Thanks a lot for these! I found somebody on TES had an answer booklet to your B7 Ecology booklet. I suggested they send it to you but I downloaded it myself just in case. Do you already have the answers for this or would you like me to forward it on?

In most schools, we study a unit at a time and your first assessment of that knowledge will be an end of unit test. It may therefore be appropriate to focus on that unit until you are confident with it. For this reason, I have produced sets of retrieval practice questions for each unit below. The next step is to mix it up! You can do this by turning these questions into flashcards, or you can make use of the retrieval practice random question generator below.

This is an Excel file designed for use by teachers for retrieval practice starters and plenaries, but could be used by students too. By following the instructions on the first tab, it will automatically generate a set of 10 questions at random (answers are available too) from a bank of approx 500 covering every specification point to display on the board as a starter or you can generate questions one at a time (e.g. for a quiz or for individual student use) if you prefer. NB. Triple science questions are included too, but can be ignored or you can refresh until a set appears without any of these. I will upload a dual-only version asap.

You can choose questions on a specific unit, or on all units preceding a particular one. Please note that we study Ecology between Bioenergetics and Homeostasis, but all other units are in specification order.

Ultra marathon running, training, racing, and performance science and physiology from the world's leading scientists, coaches, and athletes. ACTIONABLE answers to all your questions about how to become a better ultra marathon athlete. Nutrition, hydration, environment, training, gear, psychology, and much more.

Test your knowledge with this quiz on bioenergetics and cellular processes, specifically designed for MDCAT preparation. Includes multiple-choice questions with answer keys covering topics like ATP function, aerobic respiration, and glycolysis.

The Student Handout is available in the first two attached files and as a Google doc designed for use in distance learning and online instruction. (For additional instructions, see , especially item 7.) The Teacher Notes, available in the last two attached files, provide instructional suggestions and background information and explain how this activity is aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards.

Please see the Teacher Notes for much useful information, including instructions about how to get a key. No keys for any of these activities are available online, so students will think about the answers to the questions instead of copying the answers.

Ingrid Waldron

The Student Handout has been revised to improve student understanding and learning. The revisions of the Teacher Notes include the addition of introductory and follow-up storyboards; I recommend that you use the storyboards to enhance student understanding and retention of important concepts.
