it was working yesterday, now I have 2 Brother printers/scanner, different model that I try to scan and upload the scan on dropbox and it fail. Does dropbox have server down or any upgrades happen in last 24-48h???

I resolved this issue with my Brother MFC-L3710CW unit by logging into the machine and changing the TLS setting to 1.1/1.2. (192.168.... in web browser). It works with Dropbox Brother app now. It's always work for the MS OneDrive Brother app. You will need your units password to login to the administrator side of the Brother unit. Find it on the rear of the unit by the power cord input. Hope this helps!

Is this using a funciton that's built-in to the scanner? If so, you'll need to reach out to Brother for assistance. Brother would have created their own connection to Dropbox using the Dropbox API, and only Brother would be able to support that.

Suddenly, scan to web into Dropbox didn't work anymore. Connection Error 03 on the display as soon as the scan usually is uploaded to Dropbox. Multiple MFC printers in different networks have the same issue. No network or printer setting was changed.
On one device I created a new Dropbox connection resulted in the same error at the end.

I'm having the exact same issue. Discovered it first last night, an hour or so before @hemzet wrote his last message here. Connection Error 03 saving to Dropbox, no settings changed. Using a Brother DCP-9020CDW. Internet says it's because of proxy settings, but all other features works just fine, including printing via wifi.

I've had this printer for a few years and the most trouble I've ever had with it when using AirPrint from iOS devices is that it's not listed as an AirPrint printer. Turning off and on the printer usually fixes this. Yesterday and today my wife and I suddenly can't use AirPrint. The printer is listed as an AirPrint printer but when I select it it immediately disappears. I can continue to select it but every time I do it continues to disappear. This is happening on at least two iPhones, a 13 mini, and a 13 Pro Max.

I just updated the 13 Pro Max to iOS 17.2 thinking that might help but it didn't. I've tried restarting the printer several times. I've tried going through the network settings and reconnecting it to the network. I've tried restarting the router. None of this has worked. If anyone else has encountered this or know what may fix it, I'd appreciate the information.

I may have fixed my own problem so I leave it here for anyone else that may come across the same issue. I guess the firmware on the printer was pretty old, version 04.03. I updated the firmware, not the most user friendly process but not terrible I guess. The documentation that came with the firmware update tool, from the Canon support site for my model, was a bit vague but gave me enough to be able to figure it out. It worked over wifi without an issue. Took about 5-10 minutes. After the update the printer restarted on its own and the firmware is now version 22.07, quite a jump. I tried using AirPrint on my iPhone 13 Pro Max and it worked fine.

The only thing I can think of is that I hadn't used AirPrint in a few weeks, possibly since I first updated to iOS 17.1.2 (I think). Perhaps the older printer firmware no longer works with new iOS 17 versions as updating to 17.2 on my phone before trying to update the printer firmware didn't do anything to help. Maybe the newest printer firmware is needed for the newer iOS versions. Why else would a printer that has worked fine with the 04.03 version for years suddenly stop working and need an update?

Thanks, you are the man! We have an ipad and a phone that print properly and an ipad and a phone that locate the air printer but immediately disconnect just like you said. Your solution was easy and quick and all is good. Happy Holidays and thanks again

I have 4 Brother Printers. 3 - MFC - L2750DW and 1 - MFC - L2740DW that as of May 1st receive an error when uploading scanned documents to the assigned dropbox folder. I have created new credentials and everything worked, including picking the dropbox folder. But still fails at upload.

This worked flawlessly for the past 3 years. The last time this happened was 2021.

I see another post regarding similar issue happening with Epson printers as well. It appears the certificate / token that dropbox issued for this service has expired.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Any work arounds?

I appreciate the thoughtful response. And I know I mentioned Epson but my post, including the title was about Brother Web Connect Integration.

I apologize if you are an unpaid volunteer working on this site, and not a Dropbox employee. If you are a volunteer, please forgive the rest of this note it is based on the assumption that you are in an official support role.

Jay, you seem knowledgeable, so would really like your opinion on this.

On May 1st all my Brother Printers Dropbox Upload integration quit working with Dropbox.

Around May 1st several other people (not me mind you); that own Epson printers are having the exact same issue.

Here is where I need your help. What do both of these problems have in common?

What are the odds that two completely different Printer Companies both did something on their side the same day that would make you think it is a "third party problem", definitely not a Drop box problem, nothing to see here, move along....

Again, you are the expert, but I think your initial response was a pretty easy knee jerk one to make. It would be great if you and Dropbox had nothing to do with this and would not need to spend any time looking into or resolving it. Just a simple 'Not my problem"

But would be wonderful if you would either spend a little time reflecting on it, or possibly escalate the question up a level or two so it can at least be giving serious consideration.

The integration with MS OneDrive still works. If I am having this problem with Drop Box, there are countless others having the same issue. All you have to do is read the recent posts here.

But it sounds like you prefer this headline on the Tech Journals. Dropbox Drops Ball on Integration. National outage impacts 10,000s of users across several different hardware integration solutions including all Epson and Brother's products.

Recent post on their forum from Jay, the Support Expert, states they are not interested in solution. Jay says its Brother Printers and Epson's problem to deal with.

Please tell me this is not the official Dropbox perspective.

@DBinBigD Jay is an official Dropbox representative. However, the issue remains that, unfortunately, it is up to Brother (and other suppliers) to update API keys, etc. if they expire or are out of date.

Did this post not resolve your issue? If so please give us some more information so we can try and help - please remember we cannot see over your shoulder so be as descriptive as possible!

Thank you, I am doing my best to blast Brother too. And having about the same level of success.

The problem is I am dealing with the lowest level of support there is. And what needs to happen is technically knowledgeable people on both sides need to #1) Be aware there is a problem and then #2) collaborate to resolve. But the low level support at both companies immediately dismiss the issue as soon as they realize that they can blame someone else. It just needs to be escalated to a high enough level, that someone that knows what is going on, can call their counterpart and resolve it.
