I really like the password injection idea ;   right-click select passter, the account you want filled in.  Unfortunately it's not injecting the password which is very frustrating.

I'm on Ubuntu Linux 64 bit "Google Chrome 16.0.891.0 dev"

That doesn't work for any web site that I've found yet. For example facebook.com.  I've also tried it on cpanel, and a bunch of others and nothing.

What I can tell you though, is that there is an error message in the console when I select the account from the right-click menu:
Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token ;

I just tried disabling the few other extensions and it made no difference.

I'm only a newb at debugging web scripts, so I'm not really sure how to debug the right-click menu action of the plugin.

That's weird. Usually those sites work.

Does the automatic injection work? Like saving the Facebook user and password, logging off and landing again on login page?

Also when manual injection you need to land on login page, click Passter icon and clickon the right green arrow icon for injection

Thanks

No to the automatic injection (nothing happens).  If I click the Passter icon, there's no right-green arrow for injection.  I have to click on passwords and get the password page, then select a website, and then it appears next to the account.  Clicking that green arrow opens the page, but no injection.

I tried calling the doLogin() func from the console. It returns false.. and similarly opens the page, but no password injection.  I'm not sure how the hook (presumably there's some kind of 'page loaded' hook set) to make use of the loginUser that is set works, or how to debug that, or if I can.  I would be quite happy to debug this - or some kind of mocked up version that might help replicate the problem  (ie that uses a similar technique to log in with 'foobar' or some such fixed nonsense word).

(sorry for the delay - I half wrote this response before, but managed to not send it).

Thanks for the information.

We will try to reproduce it using same platform (Linux 64bit)

Already few days the function "Disable when application is idle for..." doesn't work, no matter what amount of minutes is set. Passter doesn't go offline.
Same behavior on three different machines with latest (autoupdate) chrome.

This is still an issue for me.  Is there some kind of cut-down testing framework I could try to reproduce this in a debugger?

Using passiter to logon to my sam's Club Discover account.  The password is injected into the password field and is green.  I click the login button but an error message is displayed.  If I turn off passiter and manually type in the password it will work.  I checked the stored password in passiter and it is correct.

Any ideas or help you can offer?

Thank you

Hi Michael

We haven't tested Passter on the Linux 64bit yet. Sorry but we don't have a debug framework to provide.
We will try to test it in the next week.

Thanks

Hi Charlie

We have encountered such an issue before and we will try to resolve it.

Please try to workaround as follow and let me know if it helped:
1. When landing on login page which become non functional after Passter inject user name and password, try to click on Passter icon in the browser top menu, then turn on the right on/off button (Disable automatic login fill...).
2. Reload the page, then click on the Passter icon at the top browser menu and select the user name which you want to login by clicking on the right green arrow.

Thanks

I have a problem when using passter in chrome (on windows 7)
very often when I enter Facebook (after logging in) passter will decide that some fields on the page (update status and replay) and some of the links ("leave a comment" and "view all comments") are actually a user-name field and would help me by replacing them with my user name... this breaks the functionality for these links as well.

I have only encountered this problem on Facebook so far.

Hello and many thanks for the interesting extension and service. Possible to add a autologin feature, or auto form subimission?

I have noted that since I switched to Google as repository. Passwords are no longer injected.

Also I note that I get two instances of allowing Passter to access my GDocs-data. Usually this pops up before I get a chance to type in my Master Password.
Basically the whole Passter, which worked perfectly when storing passwords locally, has now stopped working as intended.

All passwords are available when logging in to passter and also the passwordfiles are stored in my GDocs.

I can't figure out why it doesn't work anymore?

Hi There

If you will try to switch back to Browser repository. Does it works fine?
Sometimes it takes a few seconds for the automatic password fill to work. When you land on a login page, can you press on the green arrow icon in Passter browser popup menu? this will autofill the username and password in the form.

Thanks

Hi there. I´m using the extension for chrome with docs as repository. All worked fine since I installed it but now it´s not working properly anymore.
If I want to check my passwords or change options for example, the extension only shows a blank passter page:
also it doesn´t load the repository (tells me I´d have no passwords and it doesn´t ask me for access to google or my masterkey).Overall nothing but automatic injection works fine since yesterday or something.
What to do?

Hi there

We have seen such behavior when Chrome was upgrading itself to a new version.
Please try to restart the browser and if it still happens after checking that chrome is installed properly you can do the following:
1. Make sure in gdocs that passter docs are still there.
2.  Reinstall Passter

Thanks

Thanks,
You are using the developer channel of Chrome. During latest update chrome broke or change their API.

In stable Passter should work fine, but in any case a fix will be available in the upcoming days also for the dev channel.

After reverting to local browser storage it works as before on some sites like:

But when trying to log in to my Transmission demon which uses a popupwindow it doesn't autofill anymore. It used to before I selected GoogleDocs repository.

If I login to localhost:80 then it's filled in, but if I access the Torrentclient on localhost:9091 then it doesn't fill it in.
Is there any way to make it work with the Googlerepository and use different logins for different ports on the same host?

When I reverted to GoogleDocs now it seems to stick but it might be Cookies or open Sessions, I'll test some more and then get back.

Yours sincerely
HorzaSe

Now as I have gone back to GoogleDocs repository the injection fails again.
It seems that it is having problems accessing the repository. I have to allow it each time i start my browser and even then any open pages aren't fully injected/logged in.

Any ideas?

Do you mean that you need to authenticate and allow google docs for passter after each restart to browser?

If so, you can uncheck the 'revoke google docs token... In the password policy tab of settings page

Now I don't have to reconfirm after each startup after setting revoke google token, but still the injection isn't working.
If I rightclick over the login/password I can see the option to inject password or login but when I click it nothing is injected.

F ex this site doesn't work.

It seems it's having problems in Frames in pages.
Still it'd shows the option to Inject manually via Rightclick but nothing happens.

I am having a total failure of any password saving, either prompted, or explicit.

When prompting, the dialog doesn't close unless you say 'No' or click the 'X' button.

When explicitly adding a password, the form returns without the password filled in, and no explanation of any error.
