Hi Jack

The save/change password prompt is part of the new technology of web browsers which called: Browser Notifications.
Passter itself can't change it's position since there is no API provided by the browser yet.

Maybe you can set a different location if the browser let you change the notifications settings.

Probably in the future there will be more options. But currently we haven't found yet.

Thanks

Is there a way to have Passter automatically authorize with gDocs so I don't have to manually do it each time I startup my browser?

Hi Andy

You can do that by navigating to settings/options page, then go to Password Policy tab and un-check the following option:

Depends of the computer you are using, you need a private environment for minimum security threats.
You can also un-check the Disable... options there to use Passter without revoking the master key.

I f I have installed passter on a computer, then:
1. If I use other computer, will i be able to use the saved passwords by installing passter on different computer?

2.If i remove passter, will all the saved information be also removed and how can I access it?

3.If I have installed passter on a public computer, then where are the passwords being saved.

4.If I have logged in to passter and also on my chrome account, hen will the backups be available everywhere when i use my chrome account?

Hi

1. If you use google docs repository then your passwords will be saved in your google account. You can use multiple computers to access your passwords in this case.

2. If you use browser repository an uninstall passter then all of your passwords will be lost forever. If you use google docs then uninstall will not erase your passwords in google account.

3. Passwords are saved in the browser.

4. Chrome account doesn't related to passter. Only google docs account is used for saving passwords.

In the setup or the first settings page. You can right click on passter icon at the browser top bar and select Options.

Excellent Piece of software, thanks! (Using Google 32-bit Chrome v18.0.1025.162 [stable] here).

I found some rough edges that I think could easily be polished by you guys:

1) The "Dash" display gets impossible to read for certain websites. The spacing is too short and I just can't tell one icon from another (the labels overlap). What we need here is an option to show "display name" (maybe like tag) that replaces the icon label entirely.

2) Changing the view option to "List" or "Table" ameliorates the problem, however, there's no way to set the default "view mode". Every time I use passter, it will come back as "Dash", which is (as said above) very hard to read.

3) The fonts used by the dialogs is not the same font I use as the default for the browser. Maybe passter should respect the default font settings or use the same default used by chrome? (I don't really know if that's possible)

4) What's up with the colors and all that? I try to cut/paste something and the selected text is pink?!? This is distracting and again does not follow the standard used in my Chrome skin (which incidentally is the default)

5) What is a "Power Account?" I tried to find about it everywhere and couldn't.

6) Passter feels somewhat "sluggish", but not by much. When I click on the icon, the dialog takes a few ms to show. This is nothing, I'm sure, but it is perceptible and it takes that "snappy" that we all like away from the product. Maybe this is the result of the fonts/loaded dialogs?

Thanks for the great software

PS: You should consider using individual threads in this group, just like any other regular group. Using google groups as a forum won't work so well.

Currently there is no Android native application.

You can use Passter.com from mobile devices only to read your passwords if saved online in google docs.

Thanks

The master password that I've been using for a while has suddenly stopped working.  Both linux & windows.
