Never used mine but I did take the cover off last year and lubricated it. I’m surprised at how easy it opened. The previous owner must have lubricated it well.   I like the clear cover idea. Makes the torcher chamber lighter inside.   The backwards arm would be interesting. Once had to hand steer a 50’ Hanse halfway back from Bermuda with the tiller arm working in reverse after the steering chain broke. The brain rewired the direction easy enough, but the load on it was unbearable after 15 minutes. Took a lot of arms to get us back. I hope I never have to use mine.

I have tested the one on Cayenne. The metal screw plate over the
rudderstock was corrosion-welded shut, so I replaced it with a clear one,
which made the "garage" much more pleasant.
