     Hi All,

Deadlines approaching and site updated. Friday April 20th, witten testimony needs to be submitted to the Joint Committee on Election Laws. https://malegislature.gov/Committees/Detail/J15
4/20/23 the Committee will be announcing its decisions on Bills.
5/20/23 is the Constitutional Convention. Before getting on the ballot, every amendment has to make it through Joint Session Constitutional Conventions in two consecutive sessions. Since there are 160 House members and 40 Senate members, the House runs things, which means we will need the Speaker to put it on the floor for a vote. First, coming out of the Committee favorably would be Yuge.

I almost missed the announcement for the Committee Hearing last week. Regrets for being late. The feed was lost before halfway through for any wishing to testify virtually. Spoke with a Committee aide the next day and nothing could be done. Would like to Thank any who showed up to speak in person.

I have been using the Resolutions and Ballot Questions from 10 years ago, now listed on the site(Thanx Terra), in reaching out to lawmakers. I have written to Committee members highlighting the Republican efforts after Citizens United and ours. REDMAP(Red Majority Project) seemed to be ready to go after the CU decision was handed down. Money flooded the States and a red wave took over before redistricting. Great move on their part and we still feel it today. Our efforts focused on overturning CU. We gathered signatures to get  non-binding questions on the ballot and Town warrants and got City Councils to vote in favor. Nothing to show for that effort yet and it seems to have been forgotten by legislators.

We suggest everybody start using this info and ask why we were not listened to. You folks in Senator Comerford and Cyr districts, look at the results. Ballot Questions and multiple Town/ City Resolutions. I was recently speaking with an aide in Rep. Parisella's office. I was told that folks had been calling in. My response was that there was another group out there, We the People, that we get confused with. His response was that they are familiar with them and the difference between us and these folks were calling in support of us. You folks working Beverly, Thank You Kindly. That goes to all making the effort. Now is the time to make a renewed push.
We would like All to give special Thanx to those folks, groups and organizations, around 10 years ago, who put forth the effort so we have this info to bring lawmakers attention to the fact that they have not acted on our demands and the Republic is fracturing. A Federal Amendment is needed now and we need Massachusetts to step forward once again to lead the way.

Over the years I have been telling folks, "Until you get the corrupting influence of corporations and big money out of the political process, the issues most important to you will not be resolved to your satisfaction". Climate, War, Health Care, Extinction...

One last push here folks. Email and send letters with that written testimony. Continue contacting members of the Committee until the 20th. Our focus then becomes All legislators, especially the Speaker.

           Any questions, please reach out.

                           Thanx,
                                   Nick Bokron
