“Corporations are not People. Money is not Speech.”
  • PMA has til 5pm; Wed. November 23rd 2016 to get all petitions to the Town Clerks.
  • To hand in signature sheets, DROP OFF or MAIL IN the forms for each TOWN to the respective TOWN CLERK for the Town on that sheet. If you have gathered signatures for towns that you cannot personally deliver to Town Clerks, pls get them in the MAIL to the Nahant address on the form, P.O. Box 74; Nahant, MA 01908; by NOVEMBER 15th.
  • EITHER WAY, PLEASE contact us to let us know how many signatures you're submitting: PassMass...@gmail.com (email preferred) or 978 808 7173
  • TO MAIL: petition forms can be mailed directly to the Town Clerk, they MUST receive all signed forms AT the Town Hall on or before Nov 23rd.* So they should be in the mail by Nov 18th.
  • TO HAND CARRY: deliveries are accepted up til 5 pm Nov 23rd.*(see note below)*
  • OR get them to a "DROP SITE" by NOVEMBER 15th, the same place volunteers get pre-printed forms.
  • If you have questions, please ask: PassMass...@gmail.com, 978 808 7173
  • Please KEEP PETITIONING until the deadline!
  • PETITIONING HINT: It's a "good strategy" to start petitioning FAR AWAY from your town, so that you can do "your town last" after it's too late to deliver to "remote towns" via mail.
  • * PLEASE NOTE that because the 23rd is Thanksgiving Eve, if your City/ Town Hall is not open, the police station can accept, and time stamp, the petition forms.

PMA sends MANY THANKS TO ALL. Wishing our supporters relaxing and joyous Holidays.

PMA needs ALL HANDS ON DECK to collect and submit the required number of
certified voter signatures on the petition from all over this commonwealth,
in order to challenge money in politics and corporate infringement on individual rights.

HELP PassMassAmendment this Fall!

STATE HOUSE ACTION WORKING GROUP

 From Nick to PMA Subscribers:

We at PassMassAmendment(PMA) have always stated that our effort
is two-pronged. Our original action was the ballot initiative, which we
felt would also put pressure on the legislature to do something. This has
resulted in there being two bills in the State House based on our language
and the continued effort for the ballot initiative.

With your help, PMA is looking to expand our effort to include
legislation, not based on our language, but, which would also help end the
corrupting influence of corporations and big money on the political
process.

We have started general discussions with legislators, but, we are
also looking for input from the People. This means you. I am listing links
to current ballot initiatives in other States, whether proposed or actually
on the ballot, so as to give us some feedstock for ideas in Massachusetts.

If you are interested in participating, please contact Gina
- <passmassam...@gmail.com> or myself - in...@passmassamendment.org

We would also hope that you would be willing to set up meetings
with your State Senator and Representative to gather support and
co-sponsors for the upcoming legislation to be filed in the next session
which starts on January 4th.
I would also like to include the "Clean Elections Law" from 1998
that was passed by a 2/3 vote on the ballot and then shot down by a voice
vote from the MA legislature. My understanding is that now Senate President
Stanley Rosenberg was against the People's wishes on this measure.

By including the 1998 "Clean Elections Language" I am trying to
suggest that there might be other pertinent language out there.

We have a two-pronged approach that includes petitioning for a ballot initiative AND working Bills at the Statehouse (S53/H933). The next State House Action is January 3, 2017, 1:00 House Gallery, State Constitutional Convention; Lead Sponsors: Senator K. Donnelly, Reps D. Rogers/P. Mark <https://malegislature.gov/People/CityList>* .

HELP PassMassAmendment this Fall!
PassMassAmendment is working to amend/clarify the Massachusetts
Constitution based on "Corporations are not People, Money is not Speech".
We consider our effort as a start in the process of getting the
corrupting influence of corporations and big money out of the political
process to restore a system in which the People's voices are heard and
acted upon.

PassMassAmendment has a two pronged approach. 2016 is the fourth
year of our both promoting a statewide ballot initiative (for which the
number of signatures gathered has increased by 50% each year) and
concurrently advocating for two legislative bills in the MA State House
(which are based on PMA’s petition language.)

PassMassAmendment considers each petition signature gathered for the
citizen ballot initiative to put added pressure on the State House to
move forward on either a citizen or legislative Amendment to the State
Constitution. Sign up to help - PassMass...@gmail.com
