Elections Committee Hearing/ H686

    Hi All,

        On this Wednesday at 1pm the Elections Committee will be having a hearing on proposed bills and our H686(attached). This is a link to the hearing info https://malegislature.gov/Events/Hearings/Detail/3134  We are hoping that you could either attend and/or maybe testify, submit testimony to the Committee within another week or you could call in support. I would say that there are other bills being heard that should be of interest. I found out recently that foreign nationals can contribute to ballot questions.

http://files.ocpf.us/pdf/legaldocs/GL-00-09.pdf  I read it as a federal law that foreign nationals can not contribute to campaigns for any federal, state or political office but, can contribute to ballot questions since the Initiative and Referendum are state laws in about 1/2 of the states. I will be bringing that up in my testimony.
