Saskatchewan Polytechnic is making classroom and lab space available for this hands-on course that features Passivhaus building assembly mock-ups, window installation exercises, as well as discussion of important building science theory.
The instructor is Marcel Studer, a Vancouver based architect and Passivhaus consultant. Marcel brings his ample experience in design and construction. Marcel established the Tradesperson Course at BCIT in Burnaby, where it is now taught several times per year.
Local Certified Passivhaus Tradesperson, Steffen Bertelsen, has been instrumental in organizing the course and preparing teaching materials. Steffen will also teach in a supporting role and has helped adapt the course to be relevant to cold climate Saskatchewan.
Discounts are available to Passive House Canada and Saskatoon and Region Home Builders Association members.
