The movie received favorable reviews from critics for its storyline and performances.[3] Subhash K. Jha of IANS gave it 3 out 5 stars and said, "The dialogues in Ferrari Ki Sawaari lack the punch of Hirani's Munnabhai films but the heart is still in the right place. Honestly, the film is hard to dislike. It has moments of immense warmth and humour."[4] Rajeev Masand of CNN IBN gave 2.5/5 stars and mentioned that "it would have been a good movie if was kept short." Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama gave it 3.5 out 5 stars, saying that "This heartwarming, tender and sprightly film should not be missed!".[5] Rediff gave the movie 2.5 stars out of 5. Rachit Gupta of Filmfare gave a rating of 4 stars out of 5. He said,"Ferrari Ki Sawaari is a well constructed film that switches between drama and comedy with ease. Hirani's dialogue is pitch-perfect."[6] Madhureeta Mukherjee of Times of India gave it 4 stars out of five,[7] with Kunal Guha of Yahoo! Movies and Sonia Chopra of Sify giving 1.5 and 3 stars out of five respectively.[8][9]
Ferrari Ki Sawaari was a much awaited film at least in our family and for obvious reasons, we are all fans of Sharman Joshi and Boman even before they teamed up in 3 idiots. We have been watching sharman movies from his early 2000s entry and seen him take up comedy, serious and even negative roles with such ease.
Boman obviously has been all over the Bollywood film industry since the late 90s I guess or more prominently since 2000. And now Boman has become a core ingredient in many movies and always a treat to watch.
The characters and the actors who played them were all a treat, but for some reason the story in my opinion was weak. There are many instances when you are unsure if you should focus on the Ferrari theme or the Cricket theme in the movie.
It is said that the movie took a long time to make and during this time Sharman had not signed up for any other movie and focussing on this one alone, which in my opinion is a tough choice and I hope the movie does well in box office as well. Sharman is such a fine actor and I would love to see more of him in movies.
Joshi really does need a commendation for this film as he is the star of the show with his naivety and passion for his son۪s future. Joshi۪s innocent face does have a lot to do with this but he carries off his role with finesse and plays off Deboo well. Irani acts his usual eccentric Parsi self and supports Joshi۪s loveable character by reinforcing his bitterness towards his oblivious-to-the-world son. Ritwik Sahore (Kayo), who makes his debut with this movie, could not have been placed in a better film and he does the role justice with a touching monologue at the end of the film. The rest of the cast are very much Mumbai stereotypes; the lazy watchman who is more interested in cricket than watching the gate, the careless servant and the politician۪s stupid son.
The augmented reality campaign was exceuted at at a mall in Mumbai, wherein consumers got a chance to experience the technology first hand as they were comfortably seated in a virtual red sports car. A big screen over the car seats shows the consumer cruising around in the iconic car. Besides this, Android and IOS games inspired by the movie are also developed by Gameshashtra which were launched at the event by Sharman Joshi and Boman Irani.
A solid indian feelgood movie. While I didn't love every part of the story (there was an entire B-Plot that I didn't enjoy), the subtlety in the direction is what made this movie for me. Instead of having every character overreact, the film uses subtle actions from the characters as opposed to spelling out everything they're thinking.
Chemistry between Boman Irani,Sharman and ritvik is top notch, honesty of rusy will somewhat make you feel comfortable, rusy is a sweet character and Sharman played it very well. Probably one of the best movie of Sharman Joshi. Period.
The love for a fictional movie or thrilling documentary based on the sport generates much excitement. These cinematic gems have the power to evoke strong emotions, showcasing the sheer passion and drama of cricket in a larger-than-life experience. The inspirational journeys, nail-biting climaxes and rise of the underdog tropes never fail to move audiences.
Beyond its cinematic brilliance, Lagaan mirrors the historical significance of cricket in India, from its colonial beginnings to a symbol of national pride. The movie embodies themes of determination, unity, and triumph against all odds, making it a treasured piece in the history of Indian cinema.
