Hi Colleagures,
My progress in the first week has included.
1. I reviewed the PAX scripting engine recommended by Jonathan. In
many respects, it is close to what we want, except of course, the
killer is that it is commercial.
2. My 10 year old son suggested a name for the scripting language:
Pascali . He also made up a logo for me. Ok, the logo looks like it
was made by a 10 year old, but it will do for now. I will use pascali
as the temporary name, until someone comes up with something.
3. I created a wiki (
http://www.seanbdurkin.id.au/psstiki/tiki-
index.php?page=Vision+for+Pascali) to articulate my thoughts on
pascali, because the mailing list was just not suitable for that. Dont
worry about the domain name. This is just a temporary location until
we get the name sorted out, and acquire a proper domain name.
4. I have made a good start on articulating my vision for the wiki.
The link is in point 3. Head on over there and check it out. You may
have to register for the first entry. Sorry about that. I cant work
out how to open the site without requiring registration. My vision for
pascali is vaguely specified. That is deliberate. Precision will come
later.
My target for next week is to complete the vision pages. There is
about 3 or 4 more pages to go.
How you can contribute!
==================
1. If you want to contribute, check out the vision pages. Its a wiki,
so feel free to comment, amend, add to content in any way, shape or
form you feel would be helpful.
2. Complete the Survey.
3. Suggest a name for the project; suggest a name for the language.
4. Offer to take over administration of the website.
Faithfully,
Sean B. Durkin
