WHAT:
We are back with LAOUT’s 30th Annual St. Pat’s Hat tournament! The St. Pat’s Hat tradition was started by Mo way back in 1995. SPH is a 2-day coed hat tournament (each player signs up as an individual and is assigned to a team for the weekend). You must pre-register, pre-pay and bring your spirit of the game in order to play.
WHY:
To help spread the fun of Ultimate with old and new friends. And to celebrate a LAOUT institution older than even Summer League!
WHEN:
Saturday & Sunday March 14th & 15th, 2026. Captains meeting starting at 9AM on Saturday, and both games will start shortly after. Games will run to 3:30PM on Saturday and 3:00PM on Sunday. Astra Game on Sunday starts at 4 PM.

All attendees will receive FREE Astra tickets for their game on Sunday!
The game is 5 minutes from the fields at John Burroughs High School and starts only 1 hour after the final game!
Come out and support our local women's and non-binary professional team!

Help fund out financial aid fund through a donation and receive a cool ass hat! Want to see what it looks like? Design reveal will happen end of day on Sunday. If you already have a free membership and want to check out the Hat Club its here.
EXTRAS:
Field water (bring your own bottles) will be provided on Saturday & Sunday. Please bring your bottle full of water to start each day as our water supply will be limited.

We will be assigning teams and emailing out your team colors by Friday afternoon on 3/13. More info to come soon!
HOW MUCH?
Registration by March 10th - $50
Late registration after March 11th - $60
$5 from every registration is being shared with Astra
GENDER FORMAT:
Coed teams. We’ll run whatever gender format we can, as close to WFDF Rule A6.2 as possible.
MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT:
Players must be 18 years or older to play or contact us to request an exception.
Make sure to bring your most creative hats!!! You are welcome to wear a simple baseball cap but try to step up your game!
RULES:
Games are 2 hours, two timeouts per half, games to 15, hard cap at 17
USAU 2022-2023 Rules are in effect, with the following additions/modifications:
1. Gender ratio rule as close to WFDF Rule A6.2 as possible.
2. You may substitute up to two players during a timeout.
3. SPECIAL HAT RULE: You are not an offensive player without your hat on your head. If your hat falls off, you are now just a very tall blade of grass. You can still get a D without your hat on, but make sure not to catch your Ds unless your hat is on your head, or else it’s an instant turnover.
4. FINALS RULE: If a Team A is down by 3 or more points, then all sideline players and spectators may throw their hats from the sideline to knock down any passes from Team B. Please don't throw any hard hats, and don't aim at people's faces.
