The best way to learn violin is a tricky question. Different people
learn different ways, so it goes without saying that some people
prefer and do better with different techniques. No matter what you
choose, there are a few basic important things you should do to help
you succeed in your quest to master the violin.

Set aside practice time every day - Having a schedule for practice
time will help you be consistent and get the experience you need to
improve. If you're taking private lessons, this practice time will be
set aside for you by your instructor. If you're using learn violin
software online, or teaching yourself, you're going to have to budget
your time yourself. This is very important - the only way you're going
to become proficient is to practice on a constant basis.
Set goals - Goals are an important part of the process. Without goals,
it can be difficult to ascertain how far you've progressed, or how far
you need to go, to become what you're hoping to become. To begin,
write a list of three basic things you'd like to do with your violin.
Keep these goals simple - learning to read the notes, memorizing the
strings on the violin and what notes they are, learning a basic piece
of music. Once you've met these, set new goals.
Have fun! - You MUST have fun while practicing, or you won't do it! If
you're getting bored with one method, try something else. Do scales
for a while, then practice a piece of music.

Starting with these will give you a solid base to begin with. Be sure
to think about how you're going to start learning the instrument as
well. Some people don't do as well with lessons or on their own.
