first off, this is nice work here. if nothing else, it's a great
demonstration of how to effectively implement basic social features on
top of grails, and also of how to package reusable functionality for
other grails apps to use. i appreciate that this has been primarily a
side project, and am doubly impressed by the quality and
featurefulness of the project in light of that.
i just wanted to check in to try to get an honest read on the momentum
of this project. the features party time provides would all be useful
in the project i'm currently ramping up, but i'm leery of building a
new system on top of an unreleased framework bound to an older version
of grails.
i've spent a bit of time getting the demo app up and running. things
aren't quite working 'out of the box' from svn at the moment, but the
missing bits were pretty obvious and easily filled in. however, that
fact and the lack of checkins over the last several months do make me
a little bit nervous as to whether or not party time is stable and
complete enough to build on top of.
so, my questions are: are there any efforts under way to complete and
stabilize the current features and make a 1.0 release, preferably on a
recent grails version? more generally, is there any chance that any
of the past contributors will have time to dedicate to this project
over the next few months?
to be clear, i'd be more than happy to contribute to any ongoing
efforts around party time, and medium to long term should be able to
bring some additional resources to bear on the project well. however,
in the short term, my primary concern is the new site i'm building,
and whether using party time on it will save or cost me time in
getting it launched.
thanks,
