Vanity pictures -- daily self-portrait

The idea is to have a feature that allow the user to take snapshot
picture of using their webcam and post it to the app.

It's the same story of how some people took picture of themselves
everyday for few years and put them back together later as a gallery.

We can already do that today with the vast proliferation of cheap
webcams and laptops with builtin webcam.

Well, give credit where it's due, Facebook and Dailybooth.com.

The brief outline on how to do this is that;
- have the flash swf file to capture and output the snapshot as
Base64 jpg file
- the javascript on callback will accept the base64 string and
reencode it back as jpg and send it back to server via ajax.

Well actually I have see something similar to capture bar code on
books. So I had more or less the same idea but just to update the
photo in the Profile. Instead of downloading we could propose to take
directly a photo and post it.

Do you already have a flash swf doing the capture ?
