ATTENTION:
Part Time Punks (that means ALL you listeners)
KXLU's annual Fundrazor is nearly upon us again.
The one week out of the year when KXLU turns to you listeners for support.
The money raised during this one week comprises more than 85% of the station's total operating cost for ONE YEAR.
So yeah. It's that important.
For any of you who donated in the past...first of all THANK YOUUUUUU!!!!
Second of all...please please please give again!
Over the past year, my closet has amassed many, many doubles of rare and rad records, new and old
that I will be offering up as premiums to people who donate. This means loads of new releases on the
Captured Tracks, Slumberland, Mexican Summer and Wierd Record labels (among others).
AND means loads of old, rare DIY & indie singles on labels like Rough Trade, Factory and 4AD (among others).
ALSO. Volume 3 of the Part Time Punks radio session samplers will be available (along with Volumes 1 & 2).
As you probably know, for the past 3+ years I have been inviting my favorite bands to come into the radio station
and record 4 tracks exclusively for Part Time Punks (obviously/shamelessly inspired by my hero, John Peel).
these are the "tracks recorded in session" that you hear in almost every broadcast. every year I press up a new
volume of a hand-made sampler. Each sampler offers one track from each band who has been in that year for a session.
And the ONLY way you can get these is by donating to the station. They are NOT sold anywhere! And they're only
available once a year...during KXLU Fundrazor! Specifically: THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2011 3-6PM P.S.T.
You can either call in on the listener line: 310-338-KXLU or goto www.kxlu.com and pledge there.
