What is an Independent Minyan Without Minyan?

SUNDAY, MARCH 14
12:30-5:30 PM | 8:00-9:00 PM EASTERN

The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed and amplified critical issues for independent minyanim. As minyanim have grappled with the practical challenge of maintaining a community without in-person prayer, they have also faced questions of communal identity.

That's why we're convening a 2021 Virtual Minyan Conference for independent minyan leaders from around the world. Join us on Sunday, March 14, for a day of discussing these core questions of identity, sharing best practices, and building community across minyanim.

This conference is for anyone invested in the success of their minyan, including lay-leaders, paid leaders, volunteers, and minyan-goers who play a role in the functioning of their minyan.

What we do at this conference will be driven by your questions, needs, and expertise -- and we want your help to build the best possible schedule. Please answer the questions on the registration form to help us organize a conference that will be most helpful to you.

If you still have questions at the end of the day, then you can save them for a live session of Hadar's "Responsa Radio" podcast on Sunday, March 14 at 8:00 PM Eastern. You can view the tentative schedule here.

When it's Not Possible to Hear Parashat Zakhor

Parashat Zakhor is one of the few Torah readings considered to be a Torah obligation, which cannot be observed without the physical presence of a minyan.
What should one do when it is impossible to be physically present for a reading of Parashat Zakhor? Read the full responsum from Rabbi Nadav Berger.
