This is specifically what they were searching for with regards to their Ballyseede Castle wedding. It did not take long before I felt that they were right for me, and that I was also the correct choice for them. In my view their can be no other way. Especially given the candid nature of the way I like to work as a wedding photographer.
To have your wedding photographed in a candid style is one where the dynamic and the energy flow. This can be the only way to completely enjoy your wedding day. This is something that myself and the couple agreed upon. They loved the concept of a photographer who could capture their day in a uniquely candid manner.
Looking for your wedding photographer can feel like a very daunting task! So I wanted to explain my approach and style of wedding photography and how I work on your wedding day. There are lots of terms for what I do, candid wedding photography, natural wedding photography, documentary wedding photography, reportage wedding photography, they all mean the same thing. It is a style of wedding photography that documents your day in an unobtrusive way and telling a narrative, the story of your day. Capturing the genuine and authentic emotions of your wedding day.
The drinks reception is a time for you to mingle and chat with your wedding guests and a chance for me to take those natural and candid wedding photographs of the people you love. The way I work and my style of wedding photography is to blend into the background during your drinks reception and photograph your friend and family in a natural and candid way. As well as time to photograph the set up of your wedding breakfast, photographing those details that you have spent time and effort organising all while you enjoy talking to your wedding guests.
At the core of everything I do, I believe it is your day do it your way! I want to work with you to ensure your wedding day is all that you have dreamed of and will produce those perfect images of natural and candid wedding photographs you will cherish forever.
I first met Sophie and Drew at the Hawthorne (love that place!) under the Hotel Commonwealth for cocktails, and we clicked right away. They are such a easy-going couple, and were a pleasure to work with. They are super low-key, so their main concerns with wedding photography were getting candid shots, keeping family photos brief, and getting to the party ASAP. I could totally get down with that. Candids are a big part of my process, as I love catching people's genuine emotions off-guard. I like to think I'm pretty stealthy with my camera, too ;) Of course I also grab couples or groups that are mingling during cocktail hour for a quick portrait together with them looking at the camera, but I think a mix of posed shots and candids is best to tell the whole story of the day.

Belvedere Plaza is in the middle of the park at 79th Street, just east of Shakespeare Garden. Perched atop Vista Rock, Belvedere Castle overlooks the Great Lawn, Delacorte Theater, and Turtle Pond. Perhaps the best views of all are those of the castle itself from across the pond.
Portraits are great with the castle as a backdrop. Be sure to have your photographer bring their long lenses, as one of the best shots is of the newlyweds on the Castle from below. It is important to note that your photographer will not be allowed to accompany you into the Castle. Another great spot for portraits is the shaded garden down the West stairs from the Plaza.
Borthwick Castle located just 30 minutes outside Edinburgh was the perfectly lavish venue for Sarah and Andrew to host their winter wedding. American Sarah met and fell in love with Scottish Andrew, and Scotland itself. A Christmas Wedding Borthwick Castle suited Sarah and Andrew perfectly. It was mid-December and the castle was beautifully decked out for a traditional Christmas.
Winter weddings can come with their challenges, and this one was no different! Due to ice and snow, roads leading to the castle had been closed off and suppliers struggled to make it through. But made it through they did, the wedding just had to happen.
Allington Castle provided the most incredible backdrop to their wedding day, and we were spoilt for choice when it came to photos on the day. These two had also carved in a good amount of time for mingling and chatting after dinner which gave us ample opportunity for natural candid moments later in the day which I just love to capture.
We wrapped the session at the castle gardens and made our way across the road Rococo Antrim where the evening reception was being held. From there, the guys said their speeches and really enjoyed themselves the rest of the night. It was such a lovely day to be a part of.
Firstly, castle or not, Mohican is such a tranquil area to tie the knot. The moment you drive onto the area you feel a wash of calm over you. There is just something about nature and the magic of Fall that truly puts my soul at ease!
We are pleased that you are considering our property for your photoshoot. Castle Hill and Crane Beach may be used as sites for outdoor portrait photography. The Crane Estate defines portrait photography as all engagement, family, maternity, prom, graduation, and any other posed or candid portraiture of individuals by professional photographers. However, wedding and bridal photography is not allowed at Castle Hill. Interior photography is also not allowed. Photographs may not be commercial in nature or resold for commercial purposes. Film and Photography Students:Individual student (high school, college, or university) photographers with valid IDs are subject to the same guidelines that apply to portrait and commercial photography. The authentic un-staged love story in candid moments was followed by a fun couple session around the castles garden and epic roof terrace. It was all amazing and quite emotional.
Then we entered the restaurant where as a further surprise both families were waiting and congratulating the both of them.
