Since the pandemic, J.K. Rowling released Stephen Fry's version of the audio book for free. However, the Jim Dale version is 8 hours 18 minutes and Stephen Fry's version is 9 hours 33 minutes. I know some audio books are released as "reenactments" were voice actors play different characters, there's music generally, and they skip over certain descriptions of what the characters are doing in the text. I don't believe Stephen Fry's version is anything like that, so I'm having trouble figuring out why there's a time difference. If I choose to listen to Jim Dale's 8 hour reading instead of Stephen Fry's 9 hour reading, will I be missing several chapters of the book? Or did they just add extra stuff like interviews from Rowling and Stephen Fry?

There are many benefits to listening to audiobooks, including convenience, portability, and accessibility. With audiobooks, you can listen to your favorite stories while commuting, exercising, or doing chores. Audiobooks also make reading more accessible to people with visual impairments or learning disabilities.

The Harry Potter audiobooks have been narrated by two talented actors, Jim Dale, and Stephen Fry. Jim Dale narrated the audiobooks for the US market, while Stephen Fry narrated the audiobooks for the UK market.

Fry is also known for his work in theatre. In 1984 he adapted Me and My Girl for the West End where it ran for eight years and received two Laurence Olivier Awards. After it transferred to Broadway, he received a Tony Award nomination. In 2012 he played Malvolio in Twelfth Night at Shakespeare's Globe. The production was then taken to the West End before transferring to Broadway where he received a nomination for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play. Fry is also a prolific writer, contributing to newspapers and magazines and has written four novels and three autobiographies. He has lent his voice to numerous projects including the audiobooks for all seven of the Harry Potter and Paddington Bear novels.[5]

In 2000, he began starring as Charles Prentiss in the Radio 4 comedy Absolute Power, reprising the role for three further series on radio, and two on television. In 2002, he played The Minister of Chance in the Doctor Who audio drama Death Comes to Time.[55] In 2002, Fry was one of the narrators of A.A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner, in which he voiced Winnie-the-Pooh. He presented a 20-part, two-hour series, The Incomplete and Utter History of Classical Music, a "witty guide" to the genre over the past 1,000 years, on Classic FM. In 2004 he was the narrator for an adaptation of Vanity Fair on BBC Radio 4.[56] Fry has been the reader for the British versions of all of J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series of audiobooks. He discussed this project in an interview with Rowling in 2005.[57] He has also read for Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy film tie-in edition and has made recordings of his own books, such as The Stars' Tennis Balls and Moab Is My Washpot, and of works by Roald Dahl, Michael Bond, A. A. Milne, Anthony Buckeridge, Eleanor Updale, George Orwell, and Alexander Pushkin.

Appearing on the BBC's Top Gear in 2009, Fry had lost a significant amount of weight, and explained that he had shed a total of 6 stone (84 lb; 38 kg). He attributed the weight loss to walking while listening to audiobooks.[219] Fry is between 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) and 6 feet 5 inches (1.96 m) in height.[220][221] Fry has stated that he is allergic to champagne[222] and bumble bee stings.[223] Fry also has prosopagnosia ("face blindness").[224][225]

Fry is also known for his extensive voice-over work; he read all seven of the Harry Potter novels for the UK audiobook recordings,[244] narrated Paddington Bear audiobooks,[81] narrated the video game series LittleBigPlanet and Birds of Steel, narrated an animated series of explanations of the laws of cricket[245] and narrated a series of animations about humanism for Humanists UK.[246]

Both have narrated all seven Harry Potter books, like Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix, both are beloved British actors, and both have been trolled by angry YouTube commenters. Stephen Fry narrates the Harry Potter audiobooks sold in the UK, and Jim Dale narrates the version sold in the USA, and the internets are EXTREMELY divided over who does it better.

Today, Peter Damien and Rachel Smalter Hall weigh in to declare an ultimate winner in the Book Riot Battle of the Harry Potter audiobooks narrators. Two will enter Book Riot Stadium. Only one will leave a champion.

There is so much that happens in the books that had not appeared in the films and so much that as a reader one might have glossed over and so listening to the audiobooks is almost as epic an experience as reading the books for the very first time. I especially enjoyed the scenes with the Dursleys in the opening chapters of the books and appreciated their cruelty more than ever on this latest listening experience.

Yeah same! I was in the middle of book 3. when I opened Spotify again there was some kind of error massage and the audiobooks + the podcast they were part of were all gone! I really want to know what happened..

I have the same problem with Warhammeer 40k The horus heresy Thounsend Sons Part 13. Only the first 5 titles can be played from almost 400 and only a few of the others are grayed out. is the same with many other audio books. @Spotify Please fix
