[ERROR] Exception calling "GetResponse" with "0" argument(s): "The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel."

Description: When install process reaches "service control" install we receive the following error: "The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel."

Are you behind any kind of firewall?

What version of chocolatey do you have installed? open an elevated command prompt and run "chocolatey /?"

To work around this you can use offline installation http://docs.particular.net/platform/installer/offline

After taking target server out of ms domain we were able to complete install in like 5 minutes, thank you for replying! To your suggestion for offline install we did try that in another environment but went the route of standing up NuGet repo for chocolatey + offline instructions and it works well.
